Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Maybe his is trying to make up, in one night, all the analytics talk he has been putting off all season? Wait, is “balance point” analytics?I was thinking it might be some sort of accounting term.
wabene Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Hildy will have to do some rearranging this off-season
Blake Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 I was thinking it might be some sort of accounting term.I think you're getting creative.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2018 Author Posted September 30, 2018 Well, considering traffic in Chicago moves about as fast as bumper cars...I should have qualified that as it’s like cutthroat bumper cars
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Unsuperlatives finally fail Bert, and he's forced to quantify the White Sox' awfulness with run differential...
Jham Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Moya? is the game just starting?
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Palka showing exactly how a left handed batter should bunt for a hit. Get it just out of reach of the pitcher, too far away from the 1B and too slow for the 2B.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Astudillo makes Eddie Rosario positively patient at the plate. That ball was a long way inside, from what I saw.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Bert referring to something called the "balance point". I'm not familiar with the concept. Has he ever discussed that on a broadcast before? His commentary has been on a downward plane for years.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Two mistakes but no errors on that fielding play.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to watch Matt Belisle's last MLB appearance. Finally.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 How's that for confidence in Belisle: five run lead, two out, runner on first and we've got a pitcher warming.
Jham Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 His commentary has been on a downward plane for years. That cheap shot was pretty low... and away... gotta establish low and away...
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Did we win yet?Yeah, I think so.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Yes, it's mainly against the AL Central dregs, but it makes me feel at least a little bit happy seeing 10-3 over their last 13 games.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 In Chicago merging is like trying to dodge getting hit a la bumper cars.Strange... I always thought the point of bumper cars was to hit, not avoid being hit... Avoiding being hit was then lots of fun once everyone was out to get you. And i thought i had achieved enlightent when i realized that. Which...leads me to conclude... They are all out to get you in Chicago traffic? Oh yeah. Winnah!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Dicknbert talking about game(s) taking place on Monday. Could be one, could be two, could be three. The Pirates and Marlins have a makeup game scheduled in Pittsburgh. For some reason that I'm not sure of.BTW, I'll air one of my pet peeves I read and hear all over. In MLB, the term playoff is reserved for the regular season game(s) needed beyond game 162 in order to determine which team(s) advance(s) in which capacity. The postseason, not the playoffs, is the term for the games played by the ten teams playing for the World Championship. This was a sore point with a friend of mine who bet someone the Twins would make the playoffs back when they lost game 163. It was decided for some odd reason that the bet was about the post season despite the explicit use of the word playoff... At this point i suppose it is water over the dam and under the bridge.
