This is the problem with Astudillo behind the plate. If we had 6'5" Joe Mauer still back there, instead of our 5'9" guy, that throw from left field would have been only 5 feet too high.

Speaking of actors, why is it OK to tell one, break a leg, before a performance?   Because the play already has a cast.

According to my facebook memories feed, I attended my last game at the HHH Metrodome 9 years ago today.

I don't think you can overstate how important it is for the young pitchers (Stewart, Gonsalves, etc.) to work out some of their kinks over the next 6 weeks. They won't be polished players, but get to get some of the kinks worked out in meaningless games is invaluable.

I'd like to see some Romero and Littell before season's end as well.

It's entirely possible that all of these guys could be busts. There are no Strasburg-type prospects here. However, if an arm can emerge in these last 6 weeks, that could save a lot of money this offseason that could be spent on relief pitchers.

this Gonsalves kid is not a big time  pitcher, for all the hype the last 2 years, im not seeing it anyway, no one good pitch that he can control, Kohl stewart has more upside, to me anyway

Molly is never going to trust rookies when they pitch like this...

Rochester pitching staff to Gonsalves: "See Stephen, this is why we can't have nice things."

I'm not generally a fan of mind-reading, but Gonsalves's demeanor after the leadoff batter in the fifth reached says, "Skip, come and get me."

Anybody good with simple home repairs out there? If you know how to fix broken hinges, my door is always open.

I never wanted to believe my Dad was stealing from his job as a road worker.

But when I got home all the signs were there.

Yeah, that reminds me of the ship building documentary I watched this morning. Riveting.

I recently had my deck rebuilt after snow damage last winter. Near the end of the job, the construction foreman dropped his thermos on the deck surface and it broke in two. Weakest flooring I ever saw.
