nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 X Rays are negative. It was a hustle play, I think your stretching blaming Thibs. Not that I don't agree that he has to reduce the minutes of the starters.
beckmt Verified Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Still trading LaVine instead of Wiggins (who is turning into a shooter who does not like defense) could be a franchise defining move. And it has been commented on in the press and online.

If the MRI results come back negative we can breathe a sigh of relief. Concur on Thibs saddling his starters with unnecessary minutes.

RaoulDuke Verified Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I am not a big Thibs fan, he is too outdated for me, but I don't think this is all on him. Butler was rested coming off the all star break. I do wonder if there was something up with him sitting out the all star game though, that was a kinda weird circumstance to have this happen 2 games later.

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Without Butler can the Wolves even make the playoffs ?Nope. It was going to be close down the stretch even with Butler.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 If there is a major knee injury that might effectively end his time here.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Not an ACL injury, thank goodness. This being a meniscus injury, I would think there's a chance he comes back this year, but there aren't many details yet.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Without Butler can the Wolves even make the playoffs ?I think they still would make the playoffs if Butler doesn't play another game. The Clippers and Jazz are the two contenders for the 8 spot. Let's say the Wolves go 10-10 to finish the season. The Clippers would have to go 15-9, or the Jazz would have to go 16-7 to equal the Wolves. I don't see that happening.

The schedule is pretty tough the rest of the way.

The schedule is pretty tough the rest of the way.I think so. Look at their last 10 games. That includes Memphis twice, Atlanta, Dallas, and New York, basically 5 games against the worst 4 teams in the NBA. I can also see Wiggins going on a scoring tear here in this situation.

Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 In my experience, both observed and experienced firsthand, I would say he’s out 10-12 weeks. Right in time for the playoffs. Could be a blessing in disguise? I mean, hear me out, because I need a little of the ol’ optimism. For the remaining schedule, we’ve got Crossover and Taj to provide the leadership. Say we hand the keys to Wiggins and he finally takes off as the number #1 wing...then, when it really counts, here comes Jimmy Buckets, fresh and rehabilitated. ...maybe?
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Ultimately, I think we’re still a playoff team. Even without Jimmy, we should still be better than Denver, Portland, and Nawlins.
