Game 1 starts tonight. They're forecasting that it will be over 95 degrees at first pitch. Which would be the hottest temperature at the start of a game since the 2001 WS in Phoenix, AZ.

The Dodgers and Astros are the first 100 win teams to meet in the World Series since 1970.

Kershaw v. Keuchel tonight. I predict both pitchers will see the 6th inning at least.

If Chief pops in to offer up one of his classic Dad hilarious jokes, we'll know we have a game thread on our hands.

I think the Dodgers beat up Keuchel a little bit. I have no sense on Kershaw, but he seems due for a dominant, shut down start.

For some reason I'm thinking this will be a pitcher's duel. Maybe a 2-0 ballgame.

I would not complain, that is generally my favorite kind of baseball.

The Dodgers are on a plane that the other teams are not. any news on Seager and his health?

I saw he was added to the WS roster over Granderson. Not sure if he's going to play tonight though.

Me too. Really I just hope both starters pitch deep into the game so we don't have to watch the bullpen merry-go-round start in the 3rd inning.

MLBPA negotiated this aspect of travel and will not allow exceptions.

Having a hard time deciding what to watch tonight. If I want something to talk about with my friends tomorrow, I'll watch the wolves. If I want to talk about something with Grandpa tomorrow, I'll watch WS. If I want to stay on the boss's good side, I'll watch the Wild. October, man...I'm leaning T-Wolves with bits  of WS throughout.

I plan to watch the bottom of a beer glass, and maybe a board game being played.....

also, the WS in the background some of the time.

These pitchers are good

I may have misheard, but at the end of maybe the fourth inning, I thought Jack Buck closed by saying, "we have a pitchers' duel, and it's a good one". I suppose there have been bad pitchers' duels, but it still sounded dumb.

BTW, Mrs Ash is at Minute Maid Park tonight, watching the game with the local faithful. I should have had the foresight to accompany her to Houston. It's gotta be a fun scene.

Game 2 tonight. Still going to be a hot one.... 100 degrees at first pitch.

Hill v. Verlander on the mound.

Verlander has been unstoppable this postseason. Meanwhile, Hill got rocked in his first postseason start.

I think Houston evens things up tonight.

I was waiting for a call from Mrs Ash to pick her up from the airport, so had to leave after Kenley gave up the dinger. Had no idea what I was missing!

Picked the wrong night (or maybe right night) to go to bed in the 8th inning.

Your bad luck was my good fortune, I turned it on in the 7th.

Heck of a game.  Though I wonder how many people actually saw it.

I don't think it went especially late, I just have two really young kids, so I get sleep when I can. Figured it was over with Kenley looming.

I always have to chuckle when announcers say stuff like this - Joe Buck: "Dodger Stadium is the third oldest ballpark in the majors but you wouldn't know it because it's so well maintained." Hello?? California?? A little harder to maintain a ballpark when we have this thing called WINTER.

Minnesota snarkiness aside, Dodger Stadium is a classic ballpark though - very comfortable place to watch a game. And I don't even like the Dodgers.
