Darius Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 That Yankee bullpen is absurd.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 That Yankee bullpen is absurd. They're not untouchable. They've had their problems throughout the year. Danchat 1
Darius Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 That's on Santana. The "ace" of the staff needs to be able to get through 6 in big games.Garcia hasn't gone 6 with the Yanks.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Yankees have the 2nd best bullpen in baseball.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Really irritating how we continue to follow offensive explosions with scoring droughts That's exactly what happens to teams that need offense to win. Of the big three, pitching, defense and offense, the most variable by far is offense. Brock Beauchamp 1
Darius Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 They're not untouchable. They've had their problems throughout the year.I'd take it. They have like 7 guys that would be our best reliever.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 I'd take it.They have like 7 guys that would be our best reliever.Absolutely. But you could any that about most clubs
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Just can't get Gardner out
MileHighTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 The rest of the team may be new, but Gardner and Ellsbury still have that "We can't lose to the Twins" attitude. I get the bad queasy feeling every time they come to the plate.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Haven't been close throwing out runners tonight
Darius Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Gardner is putting on a baserunning clinic.
Darius Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Absolutely. But you could any that about most clubsTrue.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Twins would drop to 42-95 against the Yankees this millennium barring a late comeback
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Twins would drop to 42-95 against the Yankees this millennium barring a late comeback I knew it was bad, but holy sh**.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 yeah, but 2-1 this year before tonight.
MileHighTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Dick recites Escobar's season stats - 4 errors committed in 118 games playing three positions, 19 home runs, etc. Can a utility player be any more valuable to a team? Why don't they have a utility player of the year award? Basketball has 6th man and football honors special teams players. Baseball should honor those guys who get the spot starts, pinch hit in key situations and are the late inning defensive replacements that round out a high quality team. Escobar and players like him deserves some recognition for the contributions he has made to their teams. alskntwnsfn and Aggies7 2
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Twins would drop to 42-95 against the Yankees this millennium barring a late comeback It's like watching the 2016 twins every time I come to this ballpark! Fun!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Escobar and players like him deserves some recognition for the contributions he has made to their teams. That's what the next 6-10 years and 30-120 million he will make over those years are for Edited September 19, 2017 by DaveW
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 PH granite over Kepler.... that's interesting
MileHighTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Granite at the plate. Could this lifelong Yankee fan be the curse buster?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Now Kepler up. I still think Bunting kinda sucks FYI Danchat 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 LOL (TRUE STORY) I just got called by a pollster and I decided to go ahead and answer the questions. The 1st question Pollster: Politically... Do you feel things are going in the right direction or very seriously in the wrong direction? Me: Did you read that question right? Pollster: Yes Me: Read it again Pollster: Politically... Do you feel things are going in the right direction or very seriously in the wrong direction? Me: Do I have the options of Very Seriously in the right direction or just simply the wrong direction? Pollster: No you do not. Me: Can you tell me who commissioned this research? Pollster: I'm sorry... I don't have that information. Me: If I understand the phrasing of the question... You want me to say seriously wrong direction so go ahead and put that down. Pollster: OK Thank You (True Story) wsnydes, Puckett34 and Platoon 3

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Betances can't throw a strike and they gave him a free out.Yeah exactly. Not a fan of giving (a usual) elite RP free outs in general. Tom Froemming and Danchat 2
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 I knew it was bad, but holy sh**. Interestingly, from 1998-2001, at the end of Yankees dynasty and before the twins got competitive, MN was 17-20 against them alskntwnsfn 1
