Curtiss might have some future potential, but his ERA is now 19.64. Anyone know what the record for worst Twins' ERA is (with more than a couple of innings pitched)?

Big opportunity for Tonkin despite the score. If he can put together a few good outings, maybe he can be another important bullpen guy. He's been around. He's got good stuff at times.

What changed between the three run homer and the next hitter? The damage is done, let Curtiss finish the inning. Or take him out before the two LH hitters. One of the two.

Niko Goodrum's 0 fer start in an odd way reminds me of Glenn Williams. Came up mid 2000s. Played some 3b. Hit well. Like, every game he ever played at the MLB level well. I think he played in like a dozen games and got a hit in every single one (in which he got an AB anyway). And then never was heard from again. How does that happen? Don't you have to let the guy play at least until that streak stops?

He got hurt. Didn't have much potential so he never got another chance.

Lost in this pitching debacle, and Rochester replacement team now on the field, is that our 1 through 4 batters went 0-13, with an OBP of .000.

In September, we haven't been able to win one of the three series, all against teams with a losing record, while hanging on to the 2nd wild card.

Rays win.

Yankees winning big early over Texas.

Mariners 2, Angels 1 in the 4th.

And don't tell the annoying Indians fan (I know, that's redundant) at my church, but I'm going to go ahead and root for them over the Orioles tonight.

He played close to a full season of games for two years after his MLB stint. Like I said, seems inexplicable that he wouldn't be allowed to try to keep that going.

Of course, it is entirely possible that he has the longest career long hitting streak (if that phrase makes sense) in MLB history. Something he can tell his grandkids someday.

Umm, I'm thinking maybe replace Slegers.

I think Colon has earned the right to have one clunker.

I bet the Braves would call that folly.

I would call that foolish.

Colon has only had one clunker since he was added?

I'd have to go back and count,

but seemed 3 out of the first 4 would qualify, too.

And there was another on in there since and before this one.

Best to not see another clunker.

It's not like Slegers has been lights out. He's had one good start, one bad. 3 HR in 10 IP.

Colon has made 11 starts. 5 were "quality starts". And that doesn't include his CG, which was technically not a QS. Put that in perspective, Kyle Gibson has 8 quality starts out of 25. Berrios has had 12 of 22. Ervin has had 18 of 29 QS.

Colon has earned another start IMO.

Until today, he had not given up more than 4 runs in any start as a Twin. Ervin has had 6 starts in which he gave up more than 4 runs. Kyle has had 5. Jose has had 4.

Colon has earned another start IMO.

Fine.

The more clunkers, the less likely he will be "around" to literally be "rolled out" more next season.

Clunk away.
