sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Math yesterday... Comedy tonight! Wait, no... Reading and writing. In short, ABCs. 1. Clich A. We got to bear down, tow (toe?) the line, in short, battle our tails off. You can tell that is what we have been doing due to our lack of tails. And that makes a good tale. What are your favorite clich a? 2. B'n balls. Won't be covered here as it pertains to rules unwritten. 3. C the ball, hit the ball. It is basics like these that make the difference in the end. 4. D fence... Oh right. Wrong sport. But good fielding is not to be under estimated. Is it once again something our Twins can be proud of? But them Royals ain't no slouche neither. 5. With the greatest of Es. Our bullpen is said occasionally to walk a tightrope act to survive the later innings, but some credit should go to the flying trapeze outfield. But of course no errors this time please... Just to be clear. The rest of the letters, i'll leave to y'all. TwinsBartolo Colon (R ) 1. Brian Dozier (R ) 2B2. Joe Mauer (L) DH3. Jorge Polanco (S) SS4. IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 F -- Football is a waste of time when the Twins are on.G -- Gee, this season is more fun than last year. H -- Hawks are the one exception to F above. Way to beat State yesterday!I -- I'd still DVR the Hawks game and watch it later if the Twins are on. J -- Just wait until Sano gets added back to the lineup.K -- Kansas City needs to go down today.L -- Like it or not, folks,...M -- Molitor is going to get attention for Manager of the Year.N -- No, I'm not suggesting Molitor is a genius,O -- Or that he'll be back next year, but aP -- Positive gain of 25 wins of so could be a PR nightmare to let go.Q -- Quilici. Why? I don't know, but everyone breaks the rules for Q and X on this kind of list.R -- Royals need to go down today.S -- Sal Perez shouldn't be attempted to run on.T -- Twins win.U -- Uh, I'm running out of things.V -- Vargas at 1B? John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Everyone still ok with Colon in the rotation?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 yep, we're going to have to score about 6 runs just about every game if we're going to pull this off
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Old man not looking so good today. Senior moment?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 This is exactly what the Twins should've done to last night's KC starter. Go up there looking for a "get me over" first pitch, and rip it.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 The gaps are getting worn out.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Everyone still ok with Colon in the rotation?4-2 with a 3.42 ERA in his last 8 starts coming into this game. 52 2/3 IP in 8 starts. What a bum
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Senior moment?señor moment.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Good thing they have an off day tomorrow. The bullpen is gonna need it.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Everyone still ok with Colon in the rotation? Was never OK with it, and never will be. He is a bum. In the baseball sense. He's been a lucky bum. Trouble with luck, is one can start to think they are good instead of lucky, and press the luck.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Our pitchers aren't leaning. Not only are they horrible, they aren't learning, either.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 As much as I disliked the move, it's worked out pretty well for the team. Can't complain much about that.Me too, I thought it was a gimmicky signing. But going back the last month or so, his numbers are comparable to the other starters. Better than Berrios' numbers. Maybe that's not saying much, but the twins aren't where they are now without him.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 As much as I disliked the move, it's worked out pretty well for the team. Can't complain much about that.We can and we will complain about that! It's a birth right of Twins fans.
