S. Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Wait, so Texas challenged the run and we didn't challenge the play at 2nd? And now Dozier is pulled for what?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 It appeared to me that Grossman was tagged before Escobar touched the plate. Of course, it also appeared that Grossman was safe. So, I think both umpires on the field made wrong calls. So, it all evens out! or something like that
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 Interesting development. Dozier out of the game. No injury that seems likely.Could he have been traded?Hmmm. Either way, if he's traded or DL'd the only other infielder on the 40-man is Vielma.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 From yarni's facebook feed. Today in Twins history: Andrew Albers made his MLB debut in 2013. He came out to start the 9th inning looking for a complete game shutout. He gave up a lead off single and then a one out walk. That was it. He was relieved by Casey Fien who quickly retired the final two batters. A week later Albers would finish the deal, spinning a two hitter. After that, it was pretty much downhill for Albers' career. But, he had a fantastic start.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 Hmmm. Either way, if he's traded or DL'd the only other infielder on the 40-man is Vielma.Or, if he's traded, they can add a player to the 40-man, either from within or the player traded for. I wouldn't think that he'd be traded for another infielder though. Of course this is all just random stream-of-consciousness rambling on my part.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 and we didn't challenge the play at 2nd? yeah, what about that?* *not watching the game though
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Hmmm. Either way, if he's traded or DL'd the only other infielder on the 40-man is Vielma. They wouldn't necessarily bring up an infielder. Unless they expect Sano to miss more time as well. They still have plenty.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Has there been any comment about Dozier? IMO, if it were an injury, I think they would have said something by now.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 Target Field is a great stadium except for one thing. The line from home plate to center field is almost exactly due east. That makes it a bad sun field for the players.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 How is that a double? In this "Everyone gets a participation ribbon" society, are you really surprised? Defensive stats are meaningless nowadays.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 Does Dozier make that play?
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 How is that a double?Scorers properly give the fielder the benefit of doubt with a ball in the sun.
S. Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 How is that a double? The same way the ball that went in and out of his glove the other day was also a double* *the scorekeeper is drunk as hell
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Does Dozier make that play? No. He's not playing. Duh.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Does Dozier make that play?Yeah, no, and I like Dozier.
