Han Joelo Verified Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 The GCL game was tied the half-inning before it was called. Bummer. This is kind of like one of those murder mystery move deals. Who will be gone come morning time? Probably not Wander Javier. Nice job.Nick Brown struck out 8 n four?
Tuba Verified Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Man I hope Park can stay hot. He would be a good fit in September.. although he's not on the 40 man anymore. Rhino and Compass and HitInAPinch 2
drjim Provisional Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 It's been mentioned before, but it's awesome they have a minor leaguer named Joe Cronin. gagu 1
clutterheart Verified Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Bummer that Petru Balan is having a rough time of it. I was hopeful that he could be good. It would've been really fun to have a MLB'er on the Twins from Moldova

Obviously he, like 96% of GCL players are long shots, but that does seem a little early...
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Nice to see Baddoo moved up, he earned it. I really think he and Miranda are going to jump up prospect ranking lists this offseason for us. Mike Sixel and bluechipper 2
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Re: the Royce Lewis articles. Would the Twins consider following Borrega's rec and skip Lewis up to Cedar Rapids? Barnes looks like he can be one of those solid if unspectacular guys, or maybe morph into a Taylor Rogers down the line.

I think he'd go to Elizabethton. There's little reason for him to skip. Now, when the GCL season is over, there is a chance he could end the season in Cedar Rapids. Maybe even play in the playoffs for them. The Twins did that with Chris Parmelee and Joe Benson in 2006 (Well, then in Beloit). Rogers can hit 95. In Low A he was hitting 92-93. I don't think Barnes throws quite as hard. I think he can be a starter, but he'll have to be pinpoint. Many examples of those types making it.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Any reason Stewart was pulled after only 70 pitches with a 4-1 lead?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Any reason Stewart was pulled after only 70 pitches with a 4-1 lead? I'm guessing it had something to do with being unable to find the strike zone.
