TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 The plan to draw out the Night King was a frustrating scene. They showed us designing the plan but clearly there is more to it than that right? It's Dany and Jon on the dragons that come to get the NK when he shows up right? Otherwise, all the show told us is Bran and the Iron Born will take care of it. Showing us any of that scene, without telling us the entire plan was frustrating. Great episode, I'm quibbling.

But the shot Dany and Jon gave each other at the end, signals that there's some plan and I imagine they are off to use the dragons in some fashion.

I get the nobility of Greyjoy asking to right the wrongs of his past, but how did anyone in that room approve of the freaking Iron Born having the most critical role in the plan?

I can think of a dozen better abled people to protect Bran than freaking Theon Greyjoy.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 So who dies next episode? I'll start: Brienne, Pod, Davos, Grey Worm, Vares, Jorah, Beric, Tormound, and Gendry.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Brienne, Grey Worm, Beric, Edd, Theon I feel good about these five.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Brienne, Grey Worm, Beric, Theon for sure. Jorah probably Arya or Gendry or both maybe Lots of people in the crypts, so whichever star is there. While I've suspected Sam survives, this could be his spot. Maybe Gilly.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 You guys lack bloodthurst.Ha. If I was writing, almost everyone would die. I told my wife tonight they should kill everyone, and have it come down to Euron, Cercei, and Yara. That would be a shocker.

I'll start: Brienne, Pod, Davos, Grey Worm, Vares, Jorah, Beric, Tormound, and Gendry. This would be my list too. I think we're going to see double digit deaths of people we know. Wild cards being Jamie and/or Tyrion... Both of them are out of place right now, and Tyrion's power as the hand to Dany is fading away.

(I wonder if we might believe her dead to see her reemerge as another character who had been dead and she's taken his/her place). As for Jamie, I think he's been down trodden since he lost his hand and narratively it would make sense for greater things for Jamie.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Jamie has to kill Cersei. Or maybe Arya with Jamie's face.... For me, I want Jon and Dany dead. Complete unknown then. I'm pulling for Sansa to win at this point, but I doubt it.

gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Author Posted April 23, 2019 Internet rumor is that the Night King is going to send some of his wights at Winterfell next episode but his main attack will be at King's Landing. I don't actually think that would happen (distances would make it impossible but that hasn't stopped the show before). Cercei becomes the Nights Queen for the future assault on Winterfell and would be killed by Jamie then.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 You guys lack bloodthurst. I think there will be other crucial deaths, those are just the five I feel pretty good are going to happen. I think Jorah dies also. Probably one of the Starks. Tormund is a good bet. I think Dany is the surprise death, but this show did such a great job leaving them all set up to break hearts. I just can't see Jon dying - this is his "song" after all. Sam will be the one writing it down.

The timing won't matter, because the false attack on Winterfell saves any chance for the rest them to help out on King's Landing even if it is weeks later.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Nobody's going to die. It's all just ink on a page, electrons on a screen.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Samwell Tarly is probably playing the role of George RR Martin, meaning he will survive to tell the story. This means the core story is circling around Mr. Snow himself, meaning he will probably be the dude who comes out ahead, probably after the dragons align under him much to someone else's dismay. Arya probably dies saving everybody, but there will be some interesting twists with her face changing abilities. Jaime will no doubt kill Cersei, and Cersei will be an even badder bitch as an undead character. Other than this stuff, who knows.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 This thread started with a post that we might see this book in 2018.... We were so naive.

Guest Guests Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I mistakenly didn't realize there was already a GOT-based thread here when I started a new one. I apologize. If you have a minute, pop over to Knuckleballs and tell us, via our DeadPOLL, which characters are not going to make it to see Episode 4.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Dudes!! That was a film. So much.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2019 Author Posted April 29, 2019 Arya, the Prince that was promised. I loved it.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Arya, the Prince that was promised. I loved it.They did a good job of both setting it up and disguising that ending. Great story-telling/pacing.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Holy bleep that was intense! Made Battle of the Bastards look like A ball... I'm going to need to rewatch it just to catch everything that happened.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Might be the most intense thing I've ever watched. Way less main characters died than I thought. And I hate how useless the three eyed raven is.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 And I hate how useless the three eyed raven is.Yeah, after he got the Night King's attention why continue to warg. Hopefully this is explained...
