What are movies, bands, or TV shows that people love, but you personally think is terrible?

First of all, Mad Men was GREAT.

 

TV: Game of Thrones. Overdone. Impossible to follow the plot, since there wasn't one. And Mrs Chief made us watch like, 3 seasons.

 

Music: The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, everything from the 90's.

I don't get KISS, they do nothing for me. I am the only person in my group of friends that doesn't like them.

GOT was overdone but Mad Men was great?....got it. 92 episodes that went exactly.......nowhere fast.

Movies: Every post-Life Aquatic Wes Anderson film. Particularly because everything up to that point was so good, then he figured he could just write the same basic story over and over. And Moonrise Kingdom (generally well liked) is, like, the most boring, self-satisfied movie ever, imo.  

Rushmore might be my favorite movie of all time. The Royal Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic were tremendous as well. I would kill for a classic Wes Anderson movie right about now. Bottle Rocket was very good too.

 

Anderson really knows how to utilize Bill Murray.

I too thought Mad Men was good... 

That is my biggest issue with GOT, and why I can't get into it. They make zero attempt to introduce character names and the plot. It was utter confusion for me every time a new person showed up on screen.

Apparently a remedial version of GOT is required for some. HBO might have a way to extend this franchise now. Maybe a big letter book to follow along with.

TV Show: The Walking Dead.

 

I ****ing hate this show. It has the same flaws as the comic: it's repetitive, circular, and boring. Whereas Game of Thrones condenses and improves upon the novels by removing the weakest parts, The Walking Dead goes hard at the worst parts of the book over and over again.

 

Which is too bad, because the comic was amazing through the first 40 issues and pretty good through the first 80 issues. The show had a template what not to do and chose to move around set pieces but not really change some of the stuff that really needed to be changed.

 

The second season of the show is one of the laziest, phoned-in seasons of a show I've ever seen on television.
