I don't know about that. His average is effectively zero, Mauer is a near .300 career hitter. Go for the runs, hope you don't need another greate play in CF. Also, it wouldn't hurt to actually carry a 4th OF on this team who could play CF.

Rosario plays center fairly well. Kepler can also, in a pinch. We have backup CFers in both of them so if Bux would come out of a game, one of them would slide over.

They can play them in a pinch, but that's not really the same as carrying an actual backup CF. But that's a luxury you can't afford when you carry 18 pitchers or whatever we have.
