Okay ... help!!! Game threaders ... jump in to start whenever ... I know yesterday's game left much to be desired, but ... it's live baseball!!! And, well, depending on how you look at it overall, not meaningless, but meaningless, but not entirely.

No TV, but radio (at least from what I can tell on my MLB app); and Gameday appears to be functional today, too!

Lineups:

PIRATES:

Gosselin, 2B

Marte, CF

Polanco, LF

Freese, 3B

Jaso, 1B

Newmann, SS

Ortiz, RF

Jhang, DH

Williams, C

Lindblom, P

TWINS:

Granite, RF

Mauer, 1B

Dozier, 2B

Park DH

Castro, C

Stubbs, CF

Grossman, LF

Hague, 3B

Adrianza, SS

Gibson, P (pitched 1.2, gave up 2)

Rucinski

And it is 2-0, Pirates after an inning and 2/3rds.

Hallsey will have to jump in with the weather report, as he's there and I'm not!

What are some things to think about today, Chi?

Please fill my head with things to think about.

I'm at work doing a big proof-reading project, so my head is full of notes, articulations, dynamics, accidentals, key signatures, time signatures, page turns, missing measures ...

Your turn!

Rooting for Granite today! Hope he steals 12 bases...

Looks like he is going to try to. Singled and tried to steal second but was caught.

Other things to think about....yesterday was the 145th anniversary of Yellowstone being named the world's first National park. today is national peanut butter lover's day, pig day, fruit compote day.

Also, music is good to think about.

and, I'm launching a new D&D campaign, over the internet.

Today is the first day of a new month. My wife's workout group is trying to do do 30 burpees a day all month. I did five this am.....

Oh, man ... those kill me ...

Oh, man ... those kill me ...

Yeah, drinking sufficient quantities of carbonated beverages to get a decent burpee count can be difficult.

The Twins put one on the board, man on second and Adriana is up. And it goes about as expected. Ah well.

Excuse me, but, as the official host of the "Whine Line" shouldn't you always be thinking? As a matter of fact, I may just bring that up during the next installment.

It's tough to think when I don't have beers or vodka in my system....

I hope that's his approach all ST... Minus the getting caught stealing part.

Sounds like the Cliff Claven buffalo theory.

“Well, you see, Norm, it’s like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.

And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.”

Here's something to think about:

At almost every gas pump in the world, there are three options. There's regular, middle, and premium.

Has anyone ever gotten the middle option? What's even in there?

Never. Why pay 3-5 cents more per gallon for the middle option?

The middle option is for those who are too cheap for premium but want something a cut above the lowest grade.

That would be me.

When I lived in Iowa and South Dakota I almost always got the middle one, because that's the one with the 10% ethanol blend and it was cheaper than regular gas (I assume due to tax subsidies as well as proximity to the ethanol plants and corn production).

And your gas mileage was less. As for premium, studies show it is a rip off

Yeah in the end it balanced out, but as a broke college kid and broke new grad it still felt less painful (especially considering gas prices at the time).

Premium isn't so much a rip-off as people just misunderstand what it's for. It's for high compression engines, common on sports cars, German cars, motorcycles, etc. Putting it in the family car or SUV is quite literally burning money, however. And I'm not aware of any vehicles that need the mid-level octane, typically everything is fine at 87 or is optimized to run on 91+.

He took a walk his 3rd as bat which I see as a plus, because it seems many of the young prospects have been struggling to do that the last couple years.

OK, smart guys...here's another one for yous.

My dryer has multiple settings for various levels of dry. It has a timed-dry option, more dry, less dry, and finally, it has an 'optimum dry.'

Why do we have the other settings when we have optimum?! Why would anyone choose anything but optimum?

What puzzles me is why you're even looking at such things. Toss the stuff in the dryer, turn it to timed dry, push "go" and be done with it.

Guys don't care about the other crap. Wash, dry, stack on dryer for ease of use, toss in washing machine when done then run the washer when full. Easy, The rest? Nope.
