Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Yes, good group. Glad to see Rick Wakeman is included from his time with Yes.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I wonder what finally moved them to include ELO, I mean they're way too late on that one in my opinion. Maybe not ELO so much as Jeff Lynne personally, I know the HOF often distinguishes individuals instead. All the other Traveling Wilburys were pretty legendary, it seemed like the HOF must have had a grudge against Lynne.

Besides ELO and the Traveling Wilburys, he was a pretty important producer and song writer, as well.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Yeah, Lynne was (arguably) the most deserving/influential person not in the HOF for quite some time. Besides ELO and the Traveling Wilburys, he was a pretty important producer and song writer, as well. And a producer for many musicians in the HOF. All the Wilbury's are in the HOF and absolute musical legends yet it is was Lynne who produced all the music. I've never read anything anywhere but it just seems like him being snubbed all this time was not an accident. Anyway, bygones and whatnot, good for him.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 The Cars not getting in is a joke. Happy for ELO, long overdue.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 The Cars not getting in is a joke.Happy for ELO, long overdue. Agree with The Cars, but I'd bet they'll get in soon. They might have been the most influential band in the push towards that 80's synthetic sound. Which in many circles is probably viewed as a bad thing. My money is on time prevailing though.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Few things in this world are less rock-and-roll than halls of fame. And they're all on PEDs.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Few things in this world are less rock-and-roll than halls of fame. This Elliot Easton don't need no Rock n Roll HOF. ELO was a good band and Jeff Lynne is a talented dude. His production work is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me though, he manages to make every artist he produces have that same, homogenised Jeff Lynne sound, I can't stand it.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I hope Pearl Jam does not show up.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Few things in this world are less rock-and-roll than halls of fame.Yup.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 And they're all on PEDs.With each passing year, my opinion of PEDs softens.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Yes, good group. Glad to see Rick Wakeman is included from his time with Yes.Included in a roundabout way?
drjim Provisional Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I'm pretty meh about the Rock and Roll HOF, but Pearl Jam is by far my all time favorite band and there's not a close second. A fusion of The Who and Grateful Dead with some other great characteristics sprinkled in. The came around at the perfect age for me, I don't have the capacity to rationally debate this.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 With each passing year, my opinion of PEDs softens.Depends on the P one is trying to E with the D.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Depends on the P one is trying to E with the D.Family show, guys. Come on...
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Included in a roundabout way?I'd also be good with solo. Journey to the Center of the Earth is still part of my mix Along with this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk2aKiG9LwQ.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Family show, guys. Come on...Old guys have families too.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 With each passing year, my opinion of PEDs softens.Mine too. Drugs that make you healthier are bad?
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 People who should be in a "Rock n' Roll" HOF, include Lemmy Kilmister, Ian MaCay, Henry Rollins, Jello Biafra, and last, but not least Glenn Danzig. All of these guys would deem that award nonsense. It's a sham and does not mean anything.
