scottz Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 "Tonight, we can count on at least one thing: the fans at Target Field are going to boo a pitcher." If you are talking about Blackburn, I agree there is a good likelihood of that. I'd be shocked if anybody boos Frankie. Why would they? He didn't trade himself.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 I'd be shocked if anybody boos Frankie. Why would they? He didn't trade himself. It could have something to do with over a half decade of peak-and-valley performance, non-chalant attitude, and general awfulness.
Rivas#1Fan Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Liriano will have an okay 6 innings. Per usual he'll be reaching 100 pitches before the end of the 6th.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Aw man, Revere is not in the Line-up. Even though he bats LH - if he found a way to get on base via a BB or Bunt/Infield Hit and instill fear with his speed. That could really have profound effect on the mental bearings of the White Sox starting pitcher, what his name.
Chance Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Bark- mastro runs pretty well himself. If he gets on base I'm sure Frankie will be a little concerned and that could mean a big night from Mauer and Willingham. One thing the twins know and probably why they didn't mind trading him within the division is they know what gets Frankie off track better than anyone. Im just concerned that we the 6 runs well get wont be enough tonight
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I haven't been this excited for a Twins game since April.
Chance Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 How about Gibson today in the GCL 3innings no hits 1 walk and 7K!!! Beautiful line. Also encouraging that he went 3 innings. Hope he feels good tomorrow.

My guess is that will take 8 to win it tonight.
James Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I'm a little surprised Revere isn't in the lineup as well. He actually has a better BA against lefty pitchers. He did steal a bunch last night... maybe he's tired.

kydoty Verified Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Either we're gonna see him give up 8 runs over three innings or throw a 4 hit shutout. It's never middle ground with this guy.

NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Liriano in a White Sox uniform looks really, really strange.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Liriano in a White Sox uniform looks really, really strange.Hopefully he will be in the shower before the first inning is over.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 We just lost the trade with that DP
Scheherezade Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Liriano made Mauer look silly on 3 pitches. Not a lot of guys who can do that.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Kinda funny that Liriano is now pitching to AJ
Rivas#1Fan Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hopefully he will be in the shower before the first inning is over. Now it's getting REALLY, REALLY, REALLY strange.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 There goes the perfect game. I thought this was going to be the night for Blackburn....oh well, maybe next start.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 I hate Nick Blackburn so much. Have I said that lately?
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Does anyone think we would have gotten the same exact players from Chicago had we traded them Blackburn?

NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Ya know, Blackburn is a terrible pitcher, but I just have a hard time hating him. He seems like a class act and never complains or makes excuses. I'll keep rooting for him to turn it around.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Liriano with the walk, here comes one more walk and the inevitable meatball down the plate for a 3 run HR
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Does anyone think we would have gotten the same exact players from Chicago had we traded them Blackburn?I doubt that ANY team would take on Blackburn's contract, even for a bag of (old yellow) baseballs. But I don't hate Blackburn. I think that he is trying his best.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Does anyone think we would have gotten the same exact players from Chicago had we traded them Blackburn?Maybe if we included 100% of his contract and a PTBNL
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Liriano with the walk, here comes one more walk and the inevitable meatball down the plate for a 3 run HRThat would be VERY good.
