Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Did anyone think that wouldn't happen? Come on....
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Why the **** was ****ing gray in this game? ?????
Highabove Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Blackburn and the Twins battle all night, just to have it thrown away by a pitcher who should not even be on the staff.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Gray happens Why is Gray in this game?! Did anyone think that wouldn't happen? Come on.... Careful, you'll get the Gray Brigade all worked up.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Maybe AJ can stick around after the game to show Mauer how to pull the ball (out of the stadium).
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Gray hadn't pitched in a while and needed some work. A 2-2 game in the ninth is as good a time as any I guess.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Why the **** was ****ing gray in this game??????Like little league, it was his turn?
Highabove Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 If it is so easy to find good Bullpen arms, why then is Gray on this team?
AJ Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Are you ****ing kidding me? Top of the 9th, tie game, middle of the order, you went with Gray???How many ****ing arms you have in the pen? Can't you get anyone better?
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Again I am baffled by Gray having a roster spot much less time in the 9th in a tied game. Also count me in the Mastro at 2b trial - guy plays a solid offensive game if he can field it.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Maybe this was Gray's "last chance" Hopefully it was. Bring up ANYONE with a potential future at this point.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Spankind! Here's a thought, how about if Revere continues to play well we trade Revere in the off-season and keep Span around?
snepp Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Reminds me of the mysterious Brian Bass 9th inning appearance. I believe we concluded on BYTO that it was an "EFF-U" message from Gardy to the front office.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I for one am glad we've held on to Span and Revere. Now if only we could find a power hitting RF and move Hammer to DH and Doumit to back up C/bench bat. Of course, in addition to lots of SP.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 It seems that Ron was probably looking too far ahead in this ball game. That's ****ty way to go about it. I guess I don't understand why they have stuck with this guy. What does Gray have that a handful of guys in AAA don't have? What a waste.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Time for Mauersie to earn that paycheck.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Time for Mauersie to earn that paycheck. Calling the walk off?
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Little bit over aggressive there Joe. Another shame of a game.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Calling the walk off?The walk-off bobbled grounder, poor flip, near collision barehanded catch. Just like I envisioned it.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 What a ****ty game, ****ing Jeff Gray I hope he is DFA'ed within the hour.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Ryan could of had AJ for Butera but couldn't afford it!
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm racking my brain trying to come up with an excuse for why Gray was in the game.....and I got nothing.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I believe we concluded on BYTO that it was an "EFF-U" message from Gardy to the front office.No. It was so that Gray couldn't gripe about being "undefeated" when he is cut.
Dilligaf69 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Offense failed them today...ton of men LOB and 2-9 with RISP....It's so frustrating this team can go on a tear offensively for 4 games and then do nothing.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 It's over with 2 months to go, when does football start? You can shut down the Target now!
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 This loss is so frustrating on so many levels, hard to know where to begin. As soon as I saw Gray in the 9th, I knew it was over. The guy is just awful. He's surrendered at least 1 run in 5 of his last 6 appearances, in which he's given up a total of 10 ER while only getting 15 outs. There seriously isn't anyone better we can't put out there with the game on the line? I know some of the other guys have put in a lot of work lately, but not all of them. Burnett pitched each of the last 2 days, but only threw a total of 19 pitches. He couldn't have gone out there for the 9th?
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I love Spannzie but good god his ineptitude at swiping bases really limits his value to thhe team. A guy like him has to be able to take second there. Or at least be a legit threat.
