Platoon Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 That was nice... 'hustle', I guess, on the almost-catch by Grossman, but it still reminds me that his biggest advantage over Delmon is that his superior athleticism allows him to get to more balls he can't catch than Delmon could. Maybe the best example of "faint praise, indeed" ever posted! Riverbrian and LaBombo 2

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 14! This is starting to remind me of the movie Tin Cup David Simms: Tell me... how did a great ball-striker like you – a `legend' – manage to shoot an 83? TIN CUP: “Well, I missed a 4-foot putt on eighteen for an 82, that's how. I think 900 will be reached in similar fashion. twinsnorth49 and LaBombo 2
LaBombo Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Twins cutting into the Phillies' MLB lead in negative run differential. Twins started the night 11 back... ahead... whatever, at -172 vs. Phillies' -183. And yet Philly has won a mind-boggling 13 more games than the Twins, so in a way you have to admire our team's efficiency in generating losses. Or not. twinsnorth49 and Riverbrian 2

Or not.If you do a lot of unnecessary bunting, with players who for some reason don't know how to bunt, there's a multiplier effect.

Guest Guests Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 If Rodon gets 10/12 of the next outs by K, this will be an amazing record-setting loss.

Platoon Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Apparently the boys left it all on the field last night in that thrilling come from ahead win. Understandably it's difficult to maintain such a high level of competitiveness every day. Riverbrian 1

LaBombo Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Twins' hot bats forcing Rodon to work outside the zone and throw the wild pitch! I smell a comeback! Ok, maybe it's not a comeback, but I definitely smell something baseball-related. Platoon and Riverbrian 2
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 It's been an interesting afternoon. Our office / the rest of the neighborhood had the power shut down at 3 PM. The assumption is because ACL music festival is in town this weekend... We got out at that time, and went to a couple of free music shows this evening! Bark's Lounge and Riverbrian 2

Guest Guests Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 In all seriousness, do umpires have to pass vision tests every year to keep their jobs, particularly with fast-moving objects?

Guest Guests Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 It's like Rodon found a penny in his pocket, saw that it was dated 2015, and remembered who he is.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) Anything noteworthy Van?The headliner tonight is Radiohead, but that one requires a wristband to attend. Wish I could remember the name of the band I saw around 5 PM... That was about 5 beers ago. They had a woman lead singer who killed it on stage. More of an alt rock flavor to them.
