LaBombo Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) Bars and clubs open late in Chicago, 4am sometimes even later.Oof. Been there several times but didn't realize just how wee the wee hours are that they serve into. My best shot at being out at 3am is waking up then to go to the bathroom and suddenly deciding I want to use a dirty, busy one with 'personal product' vending machines on the wall. Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 The headliner tonight is Radiohead, but that one requires a wristband to attend. Wish I could remember the name of the band I saw around 5 PM... That was about 5 beers ago. They had a woman lead singer who killed it on stage. More of an alt rock flavor to them. Can't beat the price. Sounds like something I could very much enjoy. That would have been cool if Radiohead was a free show! Riverbrian and Vanimal46 2
LaBombo Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 It's been an interesting afternoon. Our office / the rest of the neighborhood had the power shut down at 3 PM. The assumption is because ACL music festival is in town this weekend... We got out at that time, and went to a couple of free music shows this evening!Snow day for grown ups, but with t-shirt/shorts weather. Well done. Vanimal46, Bark's Lounge and Riverbrian 3
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Snow day for grown ups, but with t-shirt/shorts weather. Well done.Honestly it was the best weather of the year here in Austin. 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. This type of weather reminds me why I moved out of Minnesota! Riverbrian and LaBombo 2

That would have been great! Listening to "Creep" for free would have been worth it. They do a good job of promoting up and coming artists at this festival. I have no doubt that some of these bands playing at the free shows will be known in a year or 2. There's a lot of musical talent down here this weekend. Last year I was at a bar, and Ludacris played an impromptu show just because he was drinking there too! Bark's Lounge and Riverbrian 2

One rough thing about living close to the action is it's expensive for not a ton of room... BUT, with how many beers we drink, anything suffices as a bed, right?! LaBombo and Riverbrian 2

Might as well, cause with this pitching he's probably gonna crush the ball whether I'm pulling for him or not. Riverbrian 1

He better not be lying to me.As much fun as Dozier's improbable 42 homers have been, and much as I enjoy the kids learning the game and showing flashes of their potential, I'm getting pretty close to the point where I have about as much invested in watching the Twins as Will and the boys have watching a random little league game. http://blogwillhunting.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/gwh_baseball_spectators.jpg Vanimal46, Riverbrian and Bark's Lounge 3

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Light sure is slowing down from how he was advertised. This is what confuses me too. The reports from Seth / others say he was throwing upper 90s in AAA and when he was with the Red Sox. Why are we only seeing 93-95 every outing?
