yeah, I've missed people calling him a bust.  I've seen discussion on what expectations he'd have to get to in order to not be considered a bust (expectations keep lowering), but I haven't seen anyone say he's a bust.  So, I guess I'll keep a lookout better for that.

It's not a lot, but I have seen it. I chalk one or two of those into just throwing that out there but really meaning they are disappointed. But, I have seen a few posters say specifically that Buxton is a bust.

 

For me personally, it's too soon to label him that. And I haven't lowered my expectations, per se, but perhaps my hopefulness has been tempered a bit.

I'm just really happy to see him doing really well now that he's back.

Yup. But in the spirit of tempering my hopefulness, I'll see where he's at at the end if the month. :)

I thought the second one was a nice play slightly harder than routine.

half a step to his right and glove down.  fairly routine for a decent 3B.  don't get me wrong, happy he made the play. but I think we've gotten to the point where we're just happy when our guys make any plays :-)

When did TD start allowing White Sox fans to start game day threads? :-)

We used to have a Sox fan on these boards. He was a carry over from BYTO. He posted with us because he couldn't stand the the Sox site. His name was Hawkiconk. Solid baseball fan, good poster when he posted.

I've reported this to the mods several times. Nothing.

The issue is that she's not really a White Sox fan ... just being a 33, er 44, groupie.

My trainer is a White Sox fan but already quit watching them for the season, has moved onto college football. So when I wanted to gloat about Thursday's game, he hadn't even watched, didn't even know the score or who they played. Took the wind right out of my sails.

hate to say it, but with our pitching staff, this game isn't out of reach.

Nice catch! THAT is a great play!

And that is why I don't think I could ever call Buxton a bust. He might not meet expectations, jury's not in on that yet, but that right there you can't call a bust.

He doesn't need to hit a lot to have value.
