Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I have a feeling we will be revisiting that top of the 3rd later on
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Well, opportunity lost. However: Foltynewicz has thrown 62 pitches in 2 innings.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 So...lead off single, two wild pitches and a passed ball and 0 runs?!?!?! That seems almost impossible to achieve.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 C'mon guys, neither of our "RBI" guys, Plouffe & Vargas, can hit a fly ball to get the runner in from third? Players need to know how to get these runs in!Plouffe got a runner in in the first, so yes, I think he knows how.
mnfireman Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 And boom, tie game. Team needs to get these runners in when given the chance.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 So about that shaky Gibson..So it goes.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I've had about enough of Kyle. Guy hardly ever seems to have a clean inning. I know he had that doozy of a game in Boston, but he's been brutal lately.
mnfireman Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Plouffe got a runner in in the first, so yes, I think he knows how.Maybe, but all he needed was to hit a flyball and and he would have gotten another one. Kind of a gimme, just go get it.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I keep coming back to this, re Gibson: "hittable."
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Gibson has gone less than 6 full innings in 8 of 15 starts. Not looking good to make 6 here.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 That took entirely too long. Ridiculous
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Maybe, but all he needed was to hit a flyball and and he would have gotten another one. Kind of a gimme, just go get it.Right. Easy as that. We all can do that.
Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Gah. Even a #5 pitcher needs to be able to control a game like this against the worst offense in baseball. Especially when you're handed an early lead and your offense is threatening to pile on for you. Just put up a relatively clean 7 innings and your bullpen and rest of the team relax for once.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Well ... I can tell the way this thread is going ... waaaa waaaa waaaa ... Later.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Right. Easy as that. We all can do that.I did that in beer league softball once. Highlight of my life!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Try to imagine the twins building a new park in 2030. Essentially the braves are doing that now
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Let's see if the offense can outdo themselves this inning. Take that in whichever direction you want.
mnfireman Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Right. Easy as that. We all can do that.We don't get paid to do that, he does. But at least he put it in play, right?

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I am not a baseball expert, but bunting might not be Gibsons forte?Pitching may not be either, it seems
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I am not a baseball expert, but bunting might not be Gibsons forte?Based on the guys around him, it's not as though he's got a lot of good examples to learn from.
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 So I got here late, caught up on TiVo, and in the first three defensive innings we have missed two backhand GB's, and did not block a low ball with a guy on first. The low ball was a garden variety ball right in front of Centeno. I don't know whether the two grounders could have been turned into outs, but both should have been fielded. Our defense up the middle is cr*p!
