I simply cannot fathom how major league hitters cannot bunt. Although it may just be our team.

And even with their failure at bunting, Molly continues to call bunt attempts, even in spots where they shouldn't be. Suzuki should not be bunting, especially after he failed to lay one down earlier.

Suzuki had 2 of the worst bunt attempts I have seen. That goes along with his pop-up bunt suicide squeeze. Either teach him to bunt correctly or don't ask him to bunt.

I don't know what to tell you, guys.  When you're in rebuilding mode [ and, yes, I think that commitment has been made ] there's gonna be more days like this.

Matt Bush - what a story

And what a season he is having.

Launder gets an F minus for explaining the Bush Story.

 

"I think he signed initially as a short stop". While true, the guy was the first pick.

 

And "he got into some trouble"

 

He beat a high school kid with a golf club while yelling "I am Matt effin Bush". Then he drank and drove and almost killed a guy on a motorcycle and went to jail for it.

agree so maybe it's not exactly a heart warming story since Bush hurt a lot of people, but he hit absolute rock bottom and now he's back in the majors. There's gotta be some redemption in that worth mentioning.

And long-term, I'm not really worried about him at plate

I wish I could say the same.  This kind of futility is just a bit too much.  I expect young guys to struggle, sure, but he just strikes out way too much, and most of his PA he seems to have no chance at.  No plan, nothing.  This guy is supposed to be a super-stud according to everyone (Top 2 prospect 3 years in a row. Another year in top 20), but there's nothing on offense. He's doing worse this year than last.

The rebuild I welcome, and I understand the mistakes by younger players. But playing for one run with this pitching staff? In what inning? ...... Arrrrrgghhh. Molitor is what I think all bad managers are, i.e. I don't think a good manager raises the level of the players, but he doesn't lower it. Molitor lowers it.

I confess the squeeze bunt attempt confused me.  Actually, I take that back.  2 of the slower runners on the team and a squeeze bunt?  I don't follow that at all.
