Oh boy... this isn't surprising, but I think we all have that feeling that Arcia will rake for whichever team he plays for next.

The writing was on the wall... Molly loves Santana and doesn't like Arcia, so Oswaldo's gone. This'll probably look like a terrible move in 3 years.

Three years, it seems to me you're a tad generous to the Twins FO.

Meanwhile, in typical fashion, the Twins will get absolutely ZERO for Arcia when he finally is officially Designated for Assignmen

Predicted on Tuesday, fulfilled on Thursday. Thanks alot for making me look good Terry, but let's face it, the joke's on you. Terrible roster management, personnel development and both asset utilization and maximization.

Just another in a string of fireable offenses.

I was hoping they would just play him in a lost year but Grossman does look like a much better bet and it's a no brainer to give Kepler preference in terms of ABs.  You also have to believe they shopped him.  Given they designated him for assignment, one would have to conclude there was not another team willing to give anything at all in return so the rest of the league appears to value him about the same as the Twins or am I missing something?

the problem is prospects are promoted through A ball slowly then rushed through double A and Triple A so they come to the bigs with zero polish. So yes I complain about Polanco who is in his last option year with 5 MLB abs and 6 MiLB abs. He's got all the potential to be a very good MLB 2nd basemen but is forced into service by poor roster management.

So, who would you sit in order to play Polanco?

Another player being discarded for nothing.

Sadly, you had players to option out. Duffy or Dean (but I guess we do need that AAAA 5th starter) or Rogers or Pressly. Then get the bench back into shape. Would rather have the Arcia bat option. Or, better yet, send Park out for a couple of weeks at AAA.

Yes, Santana is nothing but a utility player and hopefully he will sit on the bench as we continue to watch Buxton and Kepler struggle and learn, which can be a longrange positive. If they don't play, then send them both down to the minors and bring up Rosario, and we should still have Arcia on the bench.

All this move does in reinforce that the Twins weren't watching their roster management enough last season to bring a struggling Arcia back up, for at least a September callup, and if they really felt he wasn't major league ready, they could've packaged him or cut him much much earlier.

At best, we now have an open 40-man roster spot. When Mastro comes back (and is not kept...no way) we will have two. When Jepsen is cut, we will have three. Be interesting to see what the Twins do with these spots.

Oh, wait. Time for the return of Albers!

So, this is Polanco's fate next year, right?

Out of options, Dozier blocking him, Santana still here.....

If those are my options, I'm trading Dozier, playing Polanco, and DFA'ing Santana.

You aren't in the FO.....and no one is trading for Dozier.

If Dozier isn't tradeable, Plouffe certainly isn't movable either.

I'm not suggesting either would bring much back, but they're certainly movable and it definitely needs to be explored.
