I saw this in a Rand column today. He quoted Rueuse and ESPN, saying its been since 1930 since a runner was thrown out at third, down a run with 2 out in the ninth, ala Sano. That seems almost impossible to believe. On a sad note, I also heard his manager was so upset with said player, that he is no longer in organized baseball!

It's the kind of play that gets high school players kicked off their team.  Gets even HS managers to sya things like,  'If you've gone this far in baseball already and haven't figured out that doing that is boneheaded, then you're gone' :-)
