Okay ... this is getting started after the 1st inning is underway. First half went like this:

Buxton HBP, then caught stealing. Santana singled. Sano flies out. Arcia K's.

Watching the game- I actually think Buxton was safe, but it was a great throw and the ump called him out.  I backed up the feed in super-slow-mo, because....well, just because.  Very close play, at least.  Santana's high hopper to first got the safe call- he might have been out.  Spring training for everyone.

 

Santana's steal was also a close play, but not as good a throw and he was definitely safe.

 

Duffey not getting off to an ideal start here.

And the bottom half of the first: Popout, HR, ground out, ground out. Pirates up 1-0.

 

Btw, this game is being televised by the Pirates if you have an MLB.TV subscription. It's also being rebroadcast on the MLB Network tomorrow morning at 8am, if you get that channel.

The Pirate broadcast actually had Loek Van Mil listed as the starting first baseman, apparently because of the spring training numbers problem.  I was looking forward to seeing a 7-footer pitcher as a first baseman, but no such luck.

Okay ... doing too many things to keep up with what's happening ... and missed the Twins score their first run. In the top of the 2nd, Nunez hit a single then scored on a Hicks double. Hicks on 2nd with 2 outs.

CBU after 1.5 innings- 1-1.  Hicks' double to right-center was really well-hit.

Woohoo ... Arcia doing what he's paid to do ... double to score Bux. 2-1 Twins.

0-1 pitch, Arcia had a nice swing, didn't try to kill it, laced it off the wall in right.  Beautiful swing.  Buxton scored easily from first.
