A commenter posted the Justin Upton play without mentioning that the ball in question was actually stuck under the wall, as visible as it may be.

I'm having a flashback to when Roger Dorn produced his contract to manager Lou Brown in regard to "excessive calisthenics" he doesn't feel are necessary and Lou's only response is to quietly urinate on said contract.

Is it me or has Cespedes lost interest in Spring Training?

 

I find it hard to believe Mr. Cespedes was serious about the whole thing.

The ump's handling of this was brilliant.

You want a player to be looking for any little edge, but this episode was on the badly thought out end of that spectrum. Pick up the ball and throw it to the cutoff man, you probably hold the runner to a double. Get the ump to call it out of play, it's a ground rule double. You're risking the runner getting to third, by making the play, but (if I'm reading the screen correctly) it's two outs, reducing the value of the extra base.
