ashbury Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 HDTV is not kind to Tommy Milone's complexion. Riverbrian 1
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 It's probably hard for you to tell. Of all the people I know... you are the closest thing to bi-coastal. Funny word, bi-coastal. But i always coast on a bike. That's the whole point of riding one... Riverbrian 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 I don't get pulling Milone here... Molly said before the game that it would between 70-80 pitches for Tommy... probably because it was an emergency start and was out of routine. stringer bell 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Just keep them off the board
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Should be a short leash for the soft-tossing left hander.Concur. Would be hard to find fault with Milone's outing, or taking him out now. Would be hard to second guess that. (I will try my best, though:) Riverbrian 1

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Hicks is a great OF but man he seems to be timid on the warning track I agree he is a good OF... He just doesn't do straight back or over the shoulder very well. WR would not be a spot for him in football. TheLeviathan, ashbury, stringer bell and 2 others 5

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Kluber out after 6. He lost his last start to the Twins and is down two with three innings to go. What are the odds that he doesn't win a game or perhaps loses both, when facing Hughes coming off a wobbly three inning start and Milone as an emergency starter coming off a shoulder injury. stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Hicks is very good coming in, throws well, but going back? Not so much. Riverbrian 1

David HK Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Argh. Another multi-pitch at bat against Fien. Didn't bode well last time....
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 In fairness, the ball hit him in a difficult spot. Riverbrian 1

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Oh, i wanted to say i appreciated the walk down memory lane earlier in this thread. Not sure i made the time to watch some of those games, but yeah, they was good. Hosken Bombo Disco and Riverbrian 2

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 what are you asterisking? I think you've misused the asterisk there. Also, I am opening another beer. Oh, you mean you want the footnote which i think has been mentioned in threads past? Some, as have higher culinary standards, or perhaps weaker gastrointestinal tracts, would not deign to acknowledge the hot pocket category of food. But it's there somewhere in the food pyramid. I think it's blinking eye of the illuminati, or some such, um... word. Brian, i think i need the turpentine again. Riverbrian and Hosken Bombo Disco 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 In fairness, the ball hit him in a difficult spot. I was there when Jim Kleinsasser dropped a pass in the end zone with 33 seconds left in the final game of the year for the NCC Champsionship at North Dakota against Northern Colorado. Final Score Northern Colorado 14 UND 9 Northern Colorado wins the title. The Pass hit Jim in that same difficult spot. It was like 12 degrees and It was hard because Jim was a beast and he was our beast but it was his final play in a UND Uniform and therefore the last memory. Until the Vikings took him in the 2nd round a few months later. David HK and ashbury 2
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Perkins for the eighth? Ducks flying objects thrown! I wouldn't object. (Ducks are indeed flying objects, though not quite worthy of a throne... I'd go with a Blackbird, though i'm perhaps out of date) Perkins gotta get back on the horse sometime, to mix a metaphor (shaken, not stirred)

spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Other Big Moments that I remember where I was. Hrbek's Grand Slam against the Cardinals in Game 6 1987: Friends house again... I remember this one because as soon as it left the park I turned away from the TV to face everybody and I did the exact thing with my arms that Kent Hrbek did... I turned away and I had no idea that Hrbek was copying me. Jack Morris Game 7 in 1991: I was at my cheap apartment in Grand Forks watching with my wife. I could barely take it. I kept moving around the apartment to find a lucky chair or spot. It was about the 7th inning when my wife yelled at me to JUST STOP... FIND A SPOT AND STAY THERE. I think I was sitting on her lap when Gene Larkin drove in the game winner. I told her she was my lucky spot. She couldn't respond because she couldn't breath. I was at the Metrodome for both of those moments. So was my wife. In 1987 we didn't know each other. In 1991 we had been married for one month. Riverbrian, Hosken Bombo Disco and mickeymental 3
