That last Joe Mauer DP reminded me of when I was having a career year in softball 30 years ago, batting near .500, then went zero-for-the-rest-of-the-season the last eight games, including a 6-4-3 DP in my last at-bat. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth to this day.

Santana has done his job today.  Now we need to pray for the pen to do OK.  Maybe this is a good low pressure situation to bring in Perkins.

Greenway runs a long interception back for a touchdown. Big flotilla surrounds him, cornerback beside him saying, "Just a little farther buddy, you can make it all the way..." That run back took about 20 seconds. Greenway's top speed: 12mph.

5. Tiger Stadium on Sunday -- I will be at Comerica on Sunday to watch the game. I'll be in South Bend on Saturday to watch a Notre Dame Football game so I was asking folks around here about the best route from South Bend to Detroit. One guy replied... Drive East until it smells like Crap and then North Until you step in it.

And i didn't note the photo with friday's game thread intro. Did he really hit his hand for the sake of the thread?

I wouldn't bring in Perk. To me it's not 'low leverage' enough.

I wouldn't bring Perk in at all in this game. Let's get out of Detroit and re-evaluate then. We have others in the pen that can be used and should be used.

That's not that big of a deal to me for him. It might be if he's pitched all season and we needed him for the post-season. But it's Tonkin. So, there it is.

Ouch. It's kinda come to that, hasn't it? Still would like him to throw a dominant inning or two before the playoffs.

I think for those that missed it because they chose football over baseball should be blocked from ever seeing it. ;)

I don't think it's a knock on Perk. I think that's just a practical take on how to get him back up to speed.
