spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I say run Duffey out again in 5 days. He's almost 25 years old. I don't think we have to worry as much about him handling the work load as we do with, say, Berreios at age 21.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Really surprised they sent Duffey out with 95 pitches. It worked out.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Dear TD, Are you sitting your typing fingers, or chewing your fingernails? What is preventing you from typing. It's been 10 minutes and nobody has written anything. Thus I have taken it upon myself to fill the void with a void. "Here we are now. Entertain us." Thanks for filling the void! (it takes a lot of filling... especially the void where prohibited)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Yes, for home plate, 1B and 3B. 2B has its center at the point of the 90' square. Why it's not inside the square is beyond me. You are much faster than i... Thanks, and sorry i didn't see it while i was lookin' at my own stuff.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/official_rules/objectives_1.jspExcept for 2nd base which is centered on the corner...Weird.But yeah, 90' is the distance from the point of the plate where foul lines intersect to the far edge on the foul line of both 3rd and 1st, and the distance from those points on 3rd and first to the center of 2nd...Thanks for the edumication on the fine details of the lay out of the infield.Yeah, it's one of those quirky little things about baseball. The dimensions are defined to the inch but there's no good reason that second base should be different. It would be interesting to go back in time and be a fly on the wall during the committee meeting that standardized those dimensions to see why they decided to set it up that way .
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Really surprised they sent Duffey out with 95 pitches. It worked out.Concur. I'm guessing it has more to do with lack of faith in the pen than anything else.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 7th inning too early to PH for Zukes?
spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 7th inning too early to PH for Zukes? Guess not!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Suzuki drives in the Hunter!
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Concur. I'm guessing it has more to do with lack of faith in the pen than anything else.Pretty much what I was thinking as well. Now he has the chance to get the win as well.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Zuke delivers an RBI single. 3-2 good guys. And no, Dickbert....almost everyone gets sent there, not just Torii Hunter. It's a ground ball single to left. Of course they sent him.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 c'mon Escobear...big run out there on third.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Wheels get us another run!

spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 OK, Mollie, it's up to you to guess right about which relievers to bring in.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 OK, Mollie, it's up to you to guess right about which relievers to bring in.ha...well played sir. I sure as H E double hockey sticks wouldn't want to be the one making the call.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 is al worthington among the living?Al was a top-notch closer before they were called closers.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Duffey's curve actually looked better after a hundred pitches. Finally got that thing warmed up. Good outing. Good show by Boyer, too.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 In all seriousness, while I'm not above an occasional second guess about which reliever pitched to this or that batter (and sometimes, it's not a second guess, but a first guest, and sometimes it ain't all that hard to see bad matchups in advance), my general theory is, and always has been: "Lose late with your starter, that's on the manager. Lose late with a reliever, that's on the reliever." Anywhoo....so far so good. "Boyer in the 7th" was a good guess, Mr Molitor.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 That pitch to Sano that he K'd on is the exact pitch Twins pitchers need to throw more often.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Woof, just for a sec I thought Eddie got all that one. Guess it was a little off the end. Now let's see if Trevor May's back is better than Perkins's back.
