Time to Steal One

Something that will be said for hopefully the next 12 games is, "Tonight is the biggest game of the season".  And tonight's matchup is no different, "Tonight is the biggest game of the season."  

 

Tonight matches up the Twins against Corey Kluber who has absolutely dominated them this season.  In three games against the Twins this season he has pitched 26 innings giving up 7 hits and 4 runs while striking out 25.  DOMINATION.    In my opinion if the Twins want to reach the post season these are the types of games they are going to have to win.  It's not illegal to win a game your are not supposed win.  Tonight represents one of those games.

 

Indians are favorited to win this game on the Twins home turf.  I don't expect the Twins to put up a huge run total against Kluber, but hopefully they can get a few across and give them a chance.

 

A win tonight would be a direct strike to the Indians playoff chances while being confidence booster and huge win in the Twins as they continue to stay within striking distance of the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Yeah, Kluber has owned the Twins, and Hughes has been terrible. Hopefully we catch some breaks today and can pull out a 5-4 win or something of that nature. Hopefully he throws a mistake pitch to Sano for a 3 run bomb.

I don't think Kluber is any better than Sale. The Twins owned Sale this year, so logically, they should also own Kluber, at least for one start. I wonder is the ambush approach might work. See a fastball early in the count and swing, don't let the count get to two strikes.

Sale is a lefty and the Twins have mashed LHP all year.

 

Rain in the forecast, maybe they will get 3 innings in, followed by a 2 hour delay which means that Kluber would be pulled.

Every game for the month of September has to be viewed as a Playoff Game...that may get mentally exhausting but if the Twins want to make the actual Playoffs (PLAYOFFS?!) then they should treat each remaining game as a must win. Focusing on Series Wins must now transition to Game Wins. Every game counts! Go Twins! Light up Kluber tonight and send Cleveland packing tomorrow with their tails tucked between their legs and the bitter taste of defeat in their mouths!

Swinging will still get you to two strikes, unless you can actually hit a fair ball off the guy.

Concur.  Think FB early in the count and let er rip.  Try to ambush a couple pitches and get a lead.

Didn't I hear that Kluber will be on a pitch count after missing starts because of a hamstring injury.

 

If so, I think it is about getting to the Indians' bullpen as quickly as possible.

We just need Dick and Bert to talk about how the Twins don't have a chance against Kluber.     Whenever they talk about a game being over or how a starter has had a great outing while still in a game, or make any similar assumptions then all heck breaks loose. 

I actually like those two but is anyone else ever annoyed by Bremer raising his voice while saying "its a deep fly ball!!"  only for the outfielder to gather it in 20 feet in front of the warning track.
