Boom Boom Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Not a real good effort by Hunter in going after that ball in the corner.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Win series, and split the four-gamers, that's likely all we need. That would be 11-7, 86 wins. That be enough?86 is my goal for the team. To do that they will need to play very well down the stretch. If it's not enough, then it's not enough, but if they reach 86 they will have done well.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Not watching the game. Does Hicks catch that? Hit the line. Don't think anyone catches that one. But yeah, Hunter wasn't very close after it bounced. Was he shading him the other way? A few steps might have caught the runner scoring from first...

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Cedar Rapids wins 5-0. Biloxi up 4-1 after 4. Twins down 2-0 after 1. And Hunter learns from his mistake, i think. Bottom of 5, Rangers up 8-0 over Astros. CBU.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Ok some math. Mollie and Winnie, St Paul guys, reached 3000 hits as Twins. Joe is next in line from St Paul, he'll have about 1700 after this season. He has been averaging about 150 a year and he is now 32. How old will he be when he reaches 3000? There will be an extra credit question later.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 ... 4. Norris. Last night we saw Hughes on a pitch count coming back from injury and tonight we will Daniel Norris in a similar position. Norris will likely be capped at around 50 pitches so it could be a long night for the Tigers pen, which would very much be in the Twins favor. Norris, as you know, was the main piece coming to the Tigers in the David Price trade. If Norris pans out the way the Tigers hope he does, this could be the first of many times he takes the bump against the Twins. ... They mentioned that Norris came from the Blue Jays, so i went and looked it up. He's the guy during spring training what everyone made a big deal about livin' out of a vw camper. I like this guy!
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Taking a slightly different tact...or perhaps preempting the extra credit question...How many years until he gets to make a speech in upstate NY?
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Ok, time to send Norris back to his trailer.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Come Twins, out the wreck in his Rec Vehicle.

Simple matter of arithmetic, my friend ... or should I say ... elementary? And, I might add, we might want to give him a huge contract extension.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Dozier executes an elegant turn of double play. 2-1 Tigers lead halfway through the 4th. Biloxi up 5-1 in the 6th... Texas up 9-1 also in the 6th...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Anyone know any bad jokes while away the time? I'll help ya out. A horse trots into a bar... And the bar tender asks why it doesn't just walk places. The horse responds that if you're rushin' somewhere, the trot's key.

This could turn into quite the discussion in any other thread, though ... how many career hits will Joe Mauer accumulate? This question has me thinking ...

Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 22 year old Bryce Harper hit hr #40 tonight. He will be a free agent in 2019 at 26 years old. G Stanton just got a $325 mill contract from the fish at 25. Harper reaches FA in 2019, when the Twins sign him will the contract reach the $500 mill number?
