Today is National Cat Day. So do something special for your cat! Chances are they won't care and ignore you anyways, but it's the thought that counts!

Not a cat guy.....but for today I won't say bad things aboutt them, I guess.

My cat is able to read between the lines* and is still offended.

* a figure of speech - I still had to read your post to him, he figured out the rest

Aren't cat always either offended or indifferent?

Until now I never stopped to consider how many cats have posting privileges at TD!

After reading ChiTown's signature, I'm putting a lot of things together when it comes to the mods... Pretty genius of Brock, John, Parker, and Nick to pay cats to monitor the site!

Sorry North, you lost me. I don't speak fluent Canadian. In America, Bounty is a paper towel.

Lol, you mean you don't eat paper towel down there?

Bounty is the same thing as a Mounds bar apparently. Not sure where that name comes from, Bounty refers to the coconut trade in the British W.I.

How does one go about celebrating National Housewife day? Give her a night off of cooking? Or embrace it and go with the status-quo?

the whole name makes me feel icky now......I think the funny national day site said that millions of people celebrate this, really, millions?

From the site:

NATIONAL HOUSEWIFE’S DAY

Each year on November 3, millions of people across the country observe National Housewife’s Day. This day was created to make the day a special one for the stay-at-home mom. Taking care of the children and the home is a 24/7 job that sometimes does not get the thank you that is much deserved.

The term housewife is an old term stemming from the days when most families were supported from one income. The father worked and the mother stayed home to take care of the house and the children. Times have changed and it is not always possible for one parent to stay at home, even though it is still preferred by some. Typically, in today’s society, two incomes are needed to support a household. If a mother is able to stay at home, the term stay-at-home mom or domestic engineer is favored over the term housewife.

OBSERVE

Honor the housewife in your family or a housewife that you know. Use #NationalHousewife’sDay to post on social media.

HISTORY

Our research was unable to find the creator and the origin of National Housewife’s Day.

I've always felt the term 'housewife' somewhat derogatory. Your wives aren't married to houses. The better term is homemaker. And that according to my own mother. She hated the term 'housewife.'

A cave man somewhere, would be my guess.

Wait, shouldn't that be National Housewives Day? Wouldn't Housewife's still be singular? What's happening? Someone get me a sandwich!

But my wife didn't make our house either……unless she had a second job I didn't know about. Then again I've seen her with a hammer, I'm skeptical.

For all of you Subway fans, it's buy one get one free sandwich today. However, you will not find me near a Subway even for free.

Subway fans? There's such a thing anymore?

Still single eh?

Lol I was single for a while, yes. Surprisingly there's a miss Vanimal in the picture now.... Though I will say there's a better chance the Twins win a WS before I walk down the marriage aisle

In the immortal words of Huey Lewis:

Across the street, a neon sign

All you can eat for a dollar ninety nine

Our soul stew is the baddest in the land

But one dollar's worth was all I could stand.

I didn't say housemaker. And I'm sure she can wield a hammer just fine.

My bride is far, far better at home maintenance tasks than her groom is. I believe in hiring people.

After the last remodel, my wife insists I don't do more hard stuff. Not because I can't, but because I get stressed out, swear, and it takes forever......meantime, I could have hired someone and had a drink and relaxed. Given our current finances, the latter is the much better idea.

Made a road trip recently to San Antonio and had the King Kong Nacho's at Chacho's.... Everything is bigger in Texas

Wherever they serve good margaritas.

Margarita Mondays at La Cantina. Everything is the best with a couple of those in your system! Yum! A good margarita is about the only alcohol I indulge in these days.
