By the way, are tomatoes vegetables? There most definitely is a correct answer to that one, though I've had lot's of people argue with me about it...it's my pet peeve, so I'm counting on you to get it right.

Well botanically they are most definitely a fruit. The same way a banana is a berry and a strawberry is not.

Okay...um...would you describe chowder as brothy, stewy, or saucy? Or is it just...chowder? Does it spill when you're concentrating on not spilling it? To me that defines soup (though soup doesn't define that, or else ChiTown's green smoothies would fall into that category).

 

Er, and in answer to your last question, yes. Kind of like how bread is flour.

Today is National Carbonated Beverage with Caffeine Day. Unfortunately I kicked the habit of drinking soda, but the brewery close to my apartment has a new beer this week called Billy Corgan's Caffeine Addiction - pumpkin ale with coffee... does that count? 

It's also National Play Monopoly Day. I like playing that board game, but god dang it takes forever to finish it.

I bought my nephew one of those 'authentic retro' sets. Real fake money.

 

As for carbonated, caffeinated beverages ... I don't really drink them. Occasionally I buy a soda and when I do, it's usually Diet Pepsi or Diet Mountain Dew. But I've pretty much divested myself of soda. Unless I feel like a root beer float ...

 

I drink unsweetened ice tea almost (but not quite) daily, though. That's my caffeine. But it's not carbonated.

yeah, it's that way in the south, too. You have to specify 'unsweet' or you'll get 'sweet.' More and more when I order ice tea here, I really need to specify, as sweet tea is becoming more the norm up north. But I also just make my own a lot, too.

BIG soda has to be profiting from a much smaller group of people these days. I can't remember the last time I bought a 12 pack of soda at the grocery store... On very rare occasions I will have a Diet Coke at work. Otherwise La Croix Lemon to mix with vodka.
