Heyman: Twins may be early buyers

7?! The Twins fielded a team a team coming off a division title in 2011, a year which they thought they would compete again.  They didn't start rebuilding until realistically after 2012 with Revere and Span trades.  They have been realistically been rebuilding for 2.5-3 years, not seven.

According to Terry Ryan, they have never been rebuilding. Someone is making something up. It can't be both at the same time.

Stewart has better stuff than any of those pitchers you listed above.

Getting better results would offer some proof of that. Sooner that later, even. Or sooner than never.

The Twins have quantity but lack quality. Why not move several redundant prospects to try and get a proven big leaguer for this year and next year? There are only 25 big league spots.

Which are the redundant ones? And don't say Sano.

Who here has said trade the top prospects? Who here has said gut the farm? Who here has even implied that?

That guy earlier said to trade Sano for Blackmon. He said it straight out. He's entitled to his opinion, but he did say that.

I, for one, would have no problem using Sano in a trade for major league talent.

But not for Blackmon.  It has to be for legitimately very good to great present performance, with hope for that to continue for at least a couple years, and team control.

Stuff does not equal results. If someone told a scout that Mat Batts had better stuff than Kohl Stewart they would wonder if the person knew anything about pitching.

Sano for Blackmon is a catastrophically bad idea.

Like I said, if the Twins are privately set on keeping Plouffe at third and Mauer at first, then there's no position for Sano (yeah yeah other than DH) and you could trade him for a good proven outfielder and change, and you might come out ahead. Blackmon or Reddick alone might not be a big enough ask but then I don't negotiate these things.

Not sure what is catastrophic about that, but you could fill me in.

I have concerns about any hitter from Colorado.  Here's a good example why:

Blackmon home OPS: .850

Blackmon away OPS:  .656

Didn't know that was the split for that guy.

I wouldn't give up Sano for that, no matter how far away he is from contributing or doesn't have a position.

Fair enough, I missed that. I would not do that.

Don't forget the part where I said

"IF the Twins are dead set on keeping Plouffe at 3B and Mauer at 1B"

It's an important condition, no? And on deeper inspection Blackmon doesn't really look that great, though I've always seen him as a spark plug. And we've just promoted Buxton which I honestly didn't expect. So maybe a better position to upgrade is catcher or shortstop anyway.

The Twins have always treated DH as a catch all slot and not worth using a full time player there. Do you see a position for Sano for several years if they don't trade Plouffe? And like diehard and others are pointing out, Mauer is taking up the other corner infield spot. Someone really, really promising will need to be dealt. That's not a bad thing.

This would help Twins playoff push and Brewers rebuilding movement

Aramis Rameriz (last year contract - solid 3B until Sano / or DH)

Jonathan LuCroy (have a few years to work out extension)

Victor Roache (former #1 draft pick OF)

Jed Bradley (former #1 draft pick P)

Francisco Rodriguez (just for playoff run)

Dustin DeMuth (3B - Twins drafted him in 2013)

for

Oswaldo Arcia (brother Orlando (SS) is Brewers #1 prospect)

Trevor Plouffe (3rd baseman of the future & Brauns close friend)

Brandon Peterson (2016 relief help for bull pen)

Tyler Duffy (possible 2016 bullpen or rotation help)

Adam Brett Walker (hometown kid w/1B or OF capabilities)

Danny Santana (perfect utility IF/OF)

Alex Meyers (possible starter or replaces Rodriguez)

None of these guys is a definite corner piece for Twins, so why not get your catcher of the future and a couple more playoff pieces for 2015.

Boom Boom. You didnt get any likes from this post.....and for good reason......but I love the passion    . Its fun to talk about but after this you gotta understand when you think this hard about something we all get to have fun with it......

GM's never say out loud they are rebuilding even if everyone including the GM knows it full well.

Sano could end up in 3RD, RF or 1ST. He's going to have to force himself into one of those positions, or share DH duties plus one of those positions.

There is still an ongoing gaping hole in the Twins lineup for power production going forward. Vargas, Arcia and Walker are still big to huge IFs. With that in mind, the only possible way they should consider trading an 80 power potential prospect in Sano at this point is for an Ace pitcher with some years of team control.

What would it take top get Clippard & Reddick from the A's?  Would Arcia and a starter outside of our Top 10 be enough?  Who else would we be willing to include?

Is that a fact, or opinion? If "stuff" does not create results, it very possibly is not the right "stuff", perhaps. Stuff only goes so far if there aren't results that prove it.

Never? I guess I should now just ignore all those that did say it in the past? Like Houston, recently?
