ericchri Provisional Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Memo to Bert: Buildings exploding in slow motion - Cool Mike Pelfrey "exploding" to home plate in slow motion - Not so cool
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Could have been worse, I guess. Heads up throw to 3rd.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Could have been worse, I guess. Heads up throw to 3rd. Concur. (2 outs, runners at first and second, single up the middle, and they get runner at first trying to take third, but not before the runner scores from second.) That's Boston up, 1-0 CBU after 7.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Couldn't finish them off in the seventh. Pretty sure Pelf is done.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Xandah Bogae'ts with a two-out double, then Sandy Leon takes ball fou' and heads down to fi'st base. Castillo singles to Hicks, Bogae'ts sco'es. Sandy Leon out at thi'd on the throw by Aaron Hicks. Acco'ding to the Boston announcahs, Pelfrey's a big dude.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Hicks almost clears the right fielder...
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Think that's game. Bucholz has his stuff tonight unlike last week.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 If Fien pitches the 8th, i hope Boyer pitches the 9th, but Perkins would be good too.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Pwetty nawsty cuttah right the'e.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Good job by the home plate ump tonight. His zone was consistent, with it being higher than the average zone IMHO.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Man, win or lose, my hat's off to Pelf. He was on my hate-watch list for the past couple of years, but he really battled tonight, as he has been so far this season. Too bad we didn't get our allotment of first-inning runs. There was no lead for him to make it stand up.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 If somebody pitches the ninth for the Twins, I sure hope it is Perk.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I don't mind not having magic, but i'm hoping to see some good base running and timely hitting, and all that. (I've already got my bag of chips.)
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Too bad Pelfrey didn't get some run support. Another great game by him though. But so and so has our number, racking up the zeros.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Buchholz and his hair goop did the job, tonight, too. Maybe some 9th-inning magic? I love a good pitchers' duel, but it still kind of makes me feel like this--
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Good luck getting to Uehara. That's what she said.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Damn, we need something good to happen. I'll throw my hand in and offer the "Comeback Cockroach".
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Plouffy was born for moments like this.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Now we'll see how damn clutch Zuke is.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Now we'll see how damn clutch Zuke is. Ok.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Thanks all for the co-misery. Tomorrow is another day...
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Dang. Oh well at least Pelfrey pitched good enough to win. 2 chances tomorrow!
mickeymental Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 looks like joe didn't exactly pepper the monster tonight. oh well, maybe tomorrow ...
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I sad. Better now. Ok, let's play two!
Gene Larkin Provisional Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Twins started to unravel last year after managing only 2 runs while getting swept at Fenway. After tonight's game I'm fearful of history repeating itself.
