Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Wow... I take an hour and a half break and I come back to this... it's been quite a game, it's just a shame that Stauffer has to be so lame. Was the rhyming intentional, some sort of attempt to increase your fame, perhaps impress some dame, and most importantly, can we expect more of the same?
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Ah... I see that now. I must have read something else on gameday.Interim reports can be all over the map. I don't trust anything too much - including the bit of data I just offered.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Boy, Schafer is having a rough career.FTFY
formerly33 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I predict that one of these days Danny G. will say "And Chris Atteberry up next with your Circus Boy Update" and everyone who doesn't go on TD will be like, "WHAT??!!!"
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I predict that one of these days Danny G. will say "And Chris Atteberry up next with your Circus Boy Update" and everyone who doesn't go on TD will be like, "WHAT??!!!"Including Atteberry, R2D2, and Danny Vader.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Including Atteberry, R2D2, and Danny Vader.Since when would Danny Vader (as you prefer to call him now) want to know why he said what he said?
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Phil Hughes had to leave the game today with a mild left hip flexer strain.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Tyler Mason@FSNtylermason Phil Hughes left today's game with a mild left hip flexor strain.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Was the rhyming intentional, some sort of attempt to increase your fame, perhaps impress some dame, and most importantly, can we expect more of the same? The rhyming came out of nowhere, honestly. You shouldn't expect more because that's the extent of my rhyming skills.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I never thought I would say this, but thank goodness, Shane Robinson is coming in. Congratulations, Universe. You win.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Since when would Danny Vader (as you prefer to call him now) want to know why he said what he said?I suppose that if he did say that he might read TD.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Y'know, Boyer should be feeling pretty good about himself. He's only second in line to be axed out of the bullpen now that Stauffer's first in line. (I'm not counting Thielbar, who I assume is going to be sent down after Duensing returns)

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 OF defense does matter, example what number, and still in April........ where are all the "OF defense doesn't matter all that much" people?Sure, outfield defense matters. I don't think anyone was thrilled with the outfield defense going into the season. On the other hand, I find it quite curious that you'll blast the outfield defense but advocate Pinto to get the starting job at catcher and create another defensive liability at a position considerably more influential than corner outfield.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Let's get some runs on this guy.

Fifty years from now, when CBU is still being used to provide straight information, no one will remember what it means. Except Chief. He'll explain.

I don't have anything that tells me Pinto has as much effect on the defense as bad OF defense. YMMV on that. And, they have nothing to do with each other. I can think OF defense matters, and think it is bunk that catching "handling of pitchers" matters.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I have a baseball game to get to, so I guess I will have to go soon.
davidc3915 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 How come the Twins uniforms still have pinstripes on MLB Gameday? Sheesh, we're at the end of April here!!!!

I can think OF defense matters, and think it is bunk that catching "handling of pitchers" matters.Handling of pitchers is very important, and if we call up Pinto he will be as bad of a fielder as Torii, and he will not hit enough to be the starting catcher when Suzuki is hitting fine.

And, they have nothing to do with each other. I can think OF defense matters, and think it is bunk that catching "handling of pitchers" matters. It's more than handling of pitchers. Pinto is bad at almost every aspect of the defensive game, or at least he was as recently as last season. I have yet to read a single metric or scouting analysis of Pinto that is anything other than "very bad defensively" or just "terrible". He's so bad that one of the team's best pitchers called him out for it. I've been following baseball for over 25 years and that's the first time I've ever seen that happen. Battery mates are usually like glue. Calling out a guy who's on the roster - a guy you throw to at least once a week - speaks volumes about Pinto's defense. And it didn't come from some schmuck on the roster who didn't like Pinto's ability to "get after it". It came from Glen Perkins, who is probably the most well-versed guy on advanced metrics in the Twins' clubhouse. There's something about Pinto's game that he doesn't like enough to say something publicly about it. We should probably listen.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 By the way, is Graham in Mollie's doghouse, or does he have an injury?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 How come the Twins uniforms still have pinstripes on MLB Gameday? Sheesh, we're at the end of April here!!!! The uniforms today are white with Blue Pinstripes. Unless MLB.TV is recoloring everybody's uni.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 By the way, is Graham in Mollie's doghouse, or does he have an injury? I saw something earlier today that says he thought he overused him early in the season.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I saw something earlier today that says he thought he overused him early in the season. It has been nearly two weeks since he pitched.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Jordan Schafer has a MCL strain.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 By the way, is Graham in Mollie's doghouse, or does he have an injury? It's probably because1) We're hiding him on the back of our rotation so we can keep him after this season2) Graham is a rookie, and rookies should not be used in most situations. Instead, use old and washed up veterans!
