Targeting Pete Bourjos

I never saw the original quote, but apparently Ozzie Guillen called him the fastest white guy in MLB. Bourjos would be a decent threat on the bases and BB Ref gives him positive numbers for base running every season. I don't think we can book above-average offense, but his career OPS+ is 94 and he'll play next year at age 28, not at the point where his skills will diminish.

Well he doesn't steal many bases.  As he has speed, that likely is more a symptom of his inabilaty to get on base, which is a much larger problem than simply failing to swipe a bag.

There is some reason to believe that he'd get the green light and some good baserunning instruction in Minnesota.

David Cameron (Fangraphs): But the short-term upgrade [for the Cardinal in signing Heyward] is huge, especially if they flip Peter Bourjos for a starting pitcher to replace Miller, which shouldn’t be too terribly difficult.

I think some of us are underestimating Bourjos' trade value.  If we are talking a starting pitcher to replace Miller, I did too.

There is a great divide in opinion on Bourjos for real GM's, but with Buxton only a year away and the Twins being at least a year away from seriously challenging, TR and I would both likely be outbid.

Tommy Milone.  Done.

Would not want him or give anything for him, if he is released fine look at him.  Would still make a deal for an outfielder who could be a longer term piece.  Dozier for Kemp would fit my bill(for those who look for a comparison, I compare Dozier as another Brandon Phillips(This is one reason Cinni is having to trade a pitcher because his contract is an albatross)) Kemp may not be a cureall, but would give us a very good righthanded bat, average to average plus defense in a corner outfield and a larger piece of the puzzle if other prospects or Arcia fail in the long run.  Twins have many middle infield prospects at this time, so trade a piece to get a better piece.

I was thinking Deunsing would be a good trade value for him.  Millione is fine too.  It looks like we have a good shot at landing Hunter for LF so Bourjos and Schaefer as CF and 4 OF and Arcia in RF with Santana available makes sense too. Hicks and Colabello in AAA in case of injury.
