stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Man, Roy and Dick can do a song and dance to sell this team.I know everybody does it, but I wish the Twins' broadcasts would tone it down.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Triple from Plouffesie...don't see that every day.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Way to take one for the team, Trevor
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Twins Baseball™!In T-ball, he'd be credited with an inside the park home run!
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I know everybody does it, but I wish the Twins' broadcasts would tone it down. I think Roy's better at it than Bert, though. More sincerity.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Doesn't Plouffe lead the team in triples (2)?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Lots of empty seats at the Futures game. Thanks for the link. Pretty surprising even without Buxton or Sano. Makes me wonder how close to a sellout they could get even if there were more high-profile Twins prospects in the game. No doubt some non-MN pundit will use the sparse attendance to knock Twins fans as casual and not knowledgeable.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Doesn't Plouffe lead the team in triples (2)? Tied with Arcia (2)
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I wish that Gardy had pinch hit for Hughes and let the bullpen take over.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Zuke is having a tough day back there.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Zuke is having a tough day back there. After that last one it might be fair to expand that to 'tough week'...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Tied with Arcia (2) That kind of makes me wonder what the lowest triple season total to lead an MLB team might be.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Reading the comments here and the promo says "sounds like you're done having children".
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Vargas due up next in Futures Game (I think).
snepp Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 That kind of makes me wonder what the lowest triple season total to lead an MLB team might be. Brady Anderson led the '98 Orioles with 3, the team as a whole set the MLB record with just 11.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Be interesting to see what kind of PA Zuke puts together. My guess is they will pitch him inside.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Too soon for a double switch?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Five run lead, we hardly knew ye. But a lead is a lead, no matter how small!
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Zuke is having a tough day back there. That looked very painful.
tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Why not double switch here, Cola for Hughes and Deduno for Morales?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 That looked very painful.I know it made me weak in the knees just watching it.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Brady Anderson led the '98 Orioles with 3, the team as a whole set the MLB record with just 11.Thanks, that's funny because my guess was going to be either 3 or even 2 if the Dead Ball era was as hard on triples as it was homers (it was, briefly, followed by a spike). But I never would have guessed that a speedy leadoff guy like Brady Anderson, who averaged nearly 10 triples and more than 25 SB's per season in his prime would be that leader at just 34 years of age. PS Which site did you use to look that up?
tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Typical Deduno...the ball is all over the place.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Alex Meyer in front of Twins fans for the first time.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Alex Meyer in front of Twins fans for the first time. Well that was a quick half inning. Looking forward to seeing many more of those at TF.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 PS Which site did you use to look that up? Baseball Almanac provided fewest triples hit by team, then just checked those teams individually on B-Ref. (I made the assumption that Brady's 3 was a safe bet)
tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Now Cola comes out of the dugout...what happened to my double switch? I guess it is 6 of one and half a dozen of the other as it is turning out. Probably was going to replace Deduno anyway, with his pitches going everywhere.
