This breakdown of the Twins' draft by Keith Law made me chuckle:

After that, the Twins decided to just go draft an entire bullpen, taking five straight college relievers headlined by the two hardest throwers in the class, Louisville's Nick Burdi (Round 2) and San Diego State's Michael Cederoth (Round 3), both of whom can hit 100 mph.

I like players with a little Tude. Tude wins baseball games...

Tude plus movement on the fastball and another pitch that can be thrown for swing and miss strikes, even better.

I don't know, but I suspect that some of Gardy's decision to start Morales tonight is because Dickey is pitching. Being game ready doesn't really apply when you're facing a knuckleballer.

Good read about Nick Burdi, @Twins 2nd round pick: http://www.courier-journal.com/story/uofl-beat/2014/06/07/nick-burdi-pissed-about-draft/10116305/ … h/t @BaseballSwagger

I hope Burdi is p*ssed enough to get himself to the bigs this summer!!!

Read that this weekend and was torn between thinking 'motivated' and 'hothead'. Tiebreaker was that his motivational workout was extra laps instead of mad hopping.

So... that was a fairly snappy start to the game. Gotta be tough on a starter to have the first two batters on a team not known for its power go deep.

Besides the print media, there was speculation on the broadcast yesterday that the signing and necessarily immediate rostering of Morales could be problematic, as it might leave Gardy shorthanded during the "acclimation period, which could last up to 10 days or more.....maybe to be used as a pinch hitter in the meantime...etc, etc."

Gardenhire and co. have left the roster short-handed so often with their decisions that Morales would have to pinch hit until after the ASB before there would be any need to feel sorry for them...

Two will be enough. Ricky's got this.

Debating what proportion blame goes to Nolasco himself and to you.

... Jeckyll/Hyde, home/road split thing that's through the roof, almost literally in this case.

The Doctor is out. The Mr. is in.

Both him and Gibson.

First team to 20, wins?

Homers, or just runs?

Santana with a late, somewhat defensive swing, and still manages almost a rope down the line. Nice to see him not get picked off by the on the big turn by the Bautista's nice throw. He's learning.

Surprisingly, Gibson's BAA on the road is an relatively good (compared to Ricky) .292, but all 4 of his homers are on the road. Nolasco though is an absolute train wreck on the road.
