Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 No need to be humble and say sincerely. We are friends with all of the Twins players besides Jared Burton. I'm willing to bet... They read Twins Daily. Although I'd be disappointed if they were reading the game thread as the game is going on.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Was gonna make a snarky comment about Mauer taking another walk, but , well, would've been just too easy.Walking the speedy Mauer is like giving up a double!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 LOL... Brilliant. Sample Size... You got sneaky Gap power. A good Manager is gonna move you up in the lineup. Thanks! I think i take too many called strikes. That, and i can't catch up to the fastballs...
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 We know that you are not we are Yeah!!! And we didn't know... That we... Ummm.... Didn't know.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 If you assume nobody reached base... If you assume he had base runners... The number will climb accordingly. Well, Duh....
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 That's my mantra. If you get T-Shirts made... I'd be interested.
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Thanks! I think i take too many called strikes. That, and i can't catch up to the fastballs... But advanced stats give a better indication of your all-star performance.
MNGap Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Honestly I'm a bit surprised they let Hughes bat, not saying it was a bad move but not what I thought they would do.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 We know that you are not we are That sounds like song lyrics, or at least almost... I bet it's gonna keep me up tryin' to figure out what the song is that they aren't quite the lyrics to...

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I am liking this 8:10 CDT start.... so much better than the 9:10. And crummy that Saturday's game is so late.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I am liking this 8:10 CDT start.... so much better than the 9:10. And crummy that Saturday's game is so late. Me 2... I hate to admit but I don't make it til midnight the way I used to.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 If you assume nobody reached base... If you assume he had base runners... The number will climb accordingly. When i read it, i was tryin' to come up with ways that it would lower: sacrifices, or ways to reach base sans PA (hit by pitch, or interference) and then get erased by double play, picked off, or caught stealing. But yeah, in context i think it was just to get a reasonable lower bound. Otherwise, i went lookin' back at Carlos Silva's 2005 9 walk season, but there wasn't more than a 4 game gap between walks there that i saw...
MNGap Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 So random question, does Gardy get wins in his overall total in games he's ejected in?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 We may not have signed Hughes to a long enough deal.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 So random question, does Gardy get wins in his overall total in games he's ejected in? Don't tell me he got ejected...
MileHigh_Jake Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Phil Hughes looks not too bad... He gets the 8th?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hughes. Awesome. Meanwhile, Samardjiza is arguably the best starter in MLB at the moment, and has zero wins. Can we finally put the Win stat with the other dustbin book-keeping stats with no context or relevance, like RBI, Saves, and attendance?

Not me, just got in from coaching little league, it would only be the 2nd or 3rd inning for a 9:10 start and now I'm late to the damn party and didn't bring the beer!
MNGap Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Sucks when the 8:10 CDT time is still 9:10 EDT time for me.. Glad I told my boss that I'm going to be late into the office all this week
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Okay, this is the inning.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 So random question, does Gardy get wins in his overall total in games he's ejected in? I don't know and it's a great question.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Milt Thayer reminds me of Mike Marshall back when he pitched most nights for Gene Mauch.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 He gets the 8th? Why not I say? What say ye?
MNGap Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Don't tell me he got ejected... He didn't get ejected just a random question I don't know the answer to
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 He gets the 8th? oh yes I think he goes out for eighth, …and I'd love to see a complete game shutout…
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hughes. Awesome. Meanwhile, Samardjiza is arguably the best starter in MLB at the moment, and has zero wins. Can we finally put the Win stat with the other dustbin book-keeping stats with no context or relevance, like RBI, Saves, and attendance? yes we can... Unless you have 20 wins... 100 RBI's... And 40 Saves and average 35 thousand in attendance. If you have those numbers you are a unique and talented player and your next contract will be a doozy. And if you have those numbers OPS and WHIP becomes a throwaway stat.
MileHigh_Jake Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Why not I say? What say ye? Hope he does! Be surprised if he doesn't. Pitch count in the mid 90s, interesting to see if they let him throw 115+ tonight.
