  1. @DocBauer I was thinking the exact same thing when MAT went deep, lol.
  2. Vasquez more than made up for the out at 3rd with his work behind the plate. He is a difference maker with this staff.
  3. I'll wait till the end of the season to see how this plays out. By September last year this team was unwatchable. With potential mid-season reinforcements like Lewis, AK, Julien, Martin and even Paddack at some capacity, and a well curated roster, who knows this team could finish strong. We limped into the playoffs in '19 and '20 so we all know that story. A strong finish could make all this early season hand winging just fade into the late summer breeze.
  4. Of course, but people act like if they started Buxton in center field they would've won the game. It's all just second guessing. Indiana's very good point stands and I like our chances the next two games. This first game was the one anyone looking at this series preview was the one we would be most likely to lose. Those hoping for the best lineup the Twins can muster are going to have to be patient for about two weeks judging by Polanco's progress. You'd think Gallo would be back. I'm not sure if Kepler is a better option than Walner at this point. Maybe some others heat up. My guess is the Twins best possible 2023 lineup will not come to pass until well into summer with guys like Lewis, AK and maybe Julien and Martin providing the boost. Looking at the bright side this could be a Twins team that peaks at the end of the year instead of the all too familiar opposite.
  5. When is the last time the Twins stacked up like this against a pitcher of this caliber? Johan? Maybe the one good year of the other Santana?
  6. Many teams choose to consider Urquidy a virtual lefty when facing him. The Twins did not lead the way here.
  7. Duran actually got through the season healthy last year after pitching 16 innings the year before and battling injuries every year. I'd vote for letting those in charge handle him again this year. They seemed to have gotten it right, eh?
  8. Let me just get this of of the way for this season and I'll zip it the rest of the way. Could Justin Morneau please just stop talking for a few seconds here and there? I just cannot take it. I did like Cory P.
  9. This was a great start. A strong showing against the Astros and the #%&@anks could really build the confidence of this team. Oh and crush the Dirty Sox too.
  10. So far so freaking good!
  11. Maeda very well could get stronger this season. There have been questions about that ligament since before he singed with the MLB in the first place. It finally gave way, but now that it is fixed it very likely could extend his career some. He is exactly the type of pitcher who ages well.
  12. Sands tends to start off poorly then settle in. Could just be young guy nerves. It's too early to give up on him, but yes if he continues to struggle and Winder gets healthy, then swap em out. Sands will be needed this year. He won't be up the whole time, he has a ticket on the 94 shuttle.
  13. One benefit is without the need to frame pitches, large catchers can forget about getting low and just block the damn pitch. They will also be in a better position to throw. Both of these developments will help Jeffers.
  14. I'm going to copy this to my clipboard for later, bwwwaaaahahahahaha!
  15. As a native Chicagoan, your post stirred up some nostalgia for me. Thanks for that!
  16. Good on you, gotta have the head of hair to pull off a visor. For me it would have to be a Twins yamaka.
  17. Somebody please send a video of Buxton's slide to Paparesta and maybe a ballet instructor? Maybe that's just what this good ole country Georgian needs, ballet.
  18. This post in the Player's Tribune is good and funny! https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/eric-kendricks-minnesota-vikings-nfl-football
  19. His OPS against leftys the last 4 years starting in 2019 are 843, 864, 822 and 770. I would prefer he is on a short leash. Gallo too, really I would like to see the hot hand ridden. I forgot to mention for attacking the lineup against leftys you could also put Farmer in left and sit Larnach. That is one thing I like this year, they have more platoon options.
