    This is a no-brainer, all Louie has to do is walk into Yankee Stadium with his re-branded Minnesota Twins and mow down the Yankees like he did last year.

If you are getting knocked around and burning up your staff, letting you use a position player allows you to artificially protect your staff for the next few games. You are gaining an advantage you didn't earn.

    I would say 8-10 mph slower on average or at least 5-8.

    Based on the results of Ober's first two starts they probably would've waited on calling him up until he righted the ship anyway. He did look better this last time out.

    Miller is off to a nice start. If he keeps getting stronger the doubles power will come and we'll have a player.

    Some basic respect please and maybe consider who's staff is leading the league in innings pitched. You might want to consider that the early hooks last year had something to do with who Baldelli's pitchers were. Who has the impenetrable head here?

    Your thinking is on a rail. Put yourself in the manager's position after 2 outs in the 8th inning of an early season game in your new starter's 3rd start of the year. Your managing a team with a deep starting staff that may be the strength of a team that has a chance to make some noise over the long haul. Even though your staff is leading the league in innings pitched you don't want to push it too hard. This new starter looks like he could be making a move to the next level to become the staff ace the team has been missing for decades. You think to yourself, my guy is at 98 pitches. I've got a proven weapon for the lefty matchup on deck. What would be the long term benefit of pushing this most valuable asset to the limit and beyond?

    Vasquez more than made up for the out at 3rd with his work behind the plate. He is a difference maker with this staff.

    Lopez wasn't coming out for the ninth he was already almost at 100 pitches after 2 outs in the 8th in his 3rd start. Baldelli took the matchup for the last out in the 8th with a guy who has repeatedly come through in that situation. I'm sure you weren't complaining when Duran came in. All good until your unhittable reliever gets dinged. They won because Lopez bounced back, Duran bounced back, Thielbar and Jax came through and MAT showed the boys how to bunt.
