  1. Apple TV? What is with this crap? Heads up. Apparently you can go on Best Buy and add a 3 month free Apple TV Plus subscription to your cart and just check out. I did this and will let you know if it works.
  2. Still a funny article. I'm not sure being fuzzy on the details of something involving Tom Cruise is a bad thing.
  3. Another perfect example of Earlate©. Rocco pulls em too early and leaves em in too long. Sounds logical to me. This is a game Rocco cannot win. Fun game.
  4. Your article contains your opinions which I don't agree with. Lopez was used the same way he had been used all year and as you say without allowing a run. Your vague fascination with the "closer" role would have changed the way he had been used successfully all season. You say you don't know if Duran was available. He was used two days in a row two days prior and I'm sure was on the shelf. Last year they took a guy who could only get through 16 innings the season prior and got him through an all-star season unscathed. I trust their judgement on Duran. Jax has only been used as a one inning pitcher and that is how they are going to continue to use him. There were four relievers available last night and they used them. Since they felt it was likely they would need to use Stewart, they preferred him in the 9th and the better reliever to start an inning with a man on second in the 10th. This is reasonable to me. If your going to join the mob blaming Rocco for every outcome you don't like I will simply state that it is the organization that collectively came up with these usage strategies you deride, not just Rocco.
  5. When you swipe right on your podcast on Spotify to find "more like this" the result is "we couldn't find anything". Is this a major achievement?
  6. Not sure why people are saying the schedule gets tougher, that stretch with the Astros, Yanks, and both Sox was supposed to be the daunting part. They did leave a little meat on the bone against the Nationals and Marlins, but overall very good. Headrick has been a pleasant surprise and he may slot ahead of the 22 year old SWR as next man up in the rotation. Here's hoping Maeda is back if/when that is necessary. Mahle sure is a guarded dude, hard to know what we get out of him. Man Gray is intense. But man what an artist. This staff is so much more fun to watch than what I'm used to. For years rooting on the 6'6" 1st round pick Gibby to just throw the damn ball and how's about over the plate? Varland is the opposite, no pedigree and just gets after it. We now have 5 starters that I will tune in to watch.
  7. Pretty sweet to be able to go nextdoor to Target Field!
  8. Your gonna leave the City of Big Shoulders?
  9. Any self-respecting Minnesotan should know that, lol.
  10. Looks like a good lineup with only Miranda and MAT getting a break today against the righty. Going for it on a Sunday.
  11. Couple of 175 pounders
  12. Rocco needs to be fired immediately if he is going to continue to pull pitchers too Earlate©, lol.
  13. Looks like two darts may have stuck, Headrick and Stewart, we'll see.
  14. Thanks again Mr Greinke!
  15. I obviously don't know when to use it anyway
  16. LaTroy dusted that one off twice during his last telecast, lol.
  17. Mor an mor on than last time
  18. Per Dan Hayes, "Tyler Mahle exited tonight's game with right posterior elbow soreness." The back of the elbow I think, not the UCL.
  19. I tried not to snoop your photo, but please tell me that's not your yoga mat rolled up over the sub-woofer.
  20. I'm probably a little delayed, but it looks like Mahle's velo had creeped up striking out that last batter at 94. Good deal
  21. It is too bad it's taken 4 losses to get to this point. I'm a little surprised that while working closely behind the scenes with Kenta, management couldn't see he didn't quite have it, that it cost this many games. It is hindsight and not quite that simple I suppose. I think Ober is still the #6 guy, with Louie #7. Hendrick may be edging past the 22 year old SWR for #8. Ober has the talent to run with this chance and he looks ready. Will be hold up?
  22. Well I guess we know what the metronomic recurring complaint complex will include this year. Giving up games with the B lineup and leaving pitchers in too long. At least Rocco mixes it up folks, right? I think Whitey might be at least partially right about Rocco's unpopularity. The most unpopular in Twins history? I don't know but there are some on this forum who have been watching the whole time and may have insight. Ray Miller? Billy Martin? I looked at the threads from last night here and a brief look at the comments at the Strib and the anti-Rocco sentiment is strong. Personally I don't get it, I like him. He is a little quirky compared to most in sports management and has a unique way of describing things. I get a kick out of it. The lineup yesterday was determined by a management team with heavy input from the new training staff. Then it is Rocco's job to answer the mob for these decisions. That's why he gets the big bucks. It's interesting that every year it's the same people deriding management, reacting strongly to each loss, blaming and predicting poor outcomes and then the same people pushing back and preaching moderation of reactions, looking at the big picture, and patience. It's pretty polarized without much crossover. It appears to also be a microcosm of this nation of ours, lol.
