  1. Bullpen problem solved: just win games by 7-10 runs.
  2. It's Buck's world, we're just livin' in it!
  3. I'm so happy for Buck; he worked hard on his craft and endured. I will be rooting for his just reward in FA even though we won't have a chance. He's not going to hit over 400 for the season but I don't see a huge regression either. That swing is more compact, efficient and confident. I love the win today, BUT remember that we simply crushed a horrible SP like previous teams had done to the poor guy. AND we didn't have to use our bullpen. So, they still have lots to prove and I hope they do it!
  4. I think the most important parallel to make is: the "weird Willie Eyre fixation" to the current "weird Colome fixation" (gotta keep rollin' him out because, you know, um, yeah!)
  5. New manager and hitting coach please
  6. .... and now officially adding.....new manager please... to my mantra..... I've given much more nuanced critiques of Rocco, but now it is uncomfortable to even be critical of him because he is so.... lost, confused, dejected, and over his head that its just.....sad.... Today's managerial performance... just wow... I mean, just...wow
  7. New hitting coach please....
  8. 1. A new hitting coach now 2. Rationalizing Rocco need to be put on notice (see last post game news conference.....we play early...when it's cold....and can't get in a baseball routine.....and...and...and. Great leaders are at their best during adversity...not when everything is comfy and perfect. 3. Stashak MRI and gone 4. Start cycling through all AAA RP and figure out who if any are 'hot' this year (law of averages says we have one or two 'surprises' for this year. 5. Figure out something consistent for Dobnak before you ruin him. 6. Ride or die with Kirilloff.... Rosario is gone...see the plan through and how much more can you really die than the OPS+ of 7 from LF.... (Holy @#$%!) 7. Catcher and 1B most concerning.....If Sano/Garver/Jeffers don't snap back....we don't have may answers....
  9. Rocco expounding on no night games, it being cold, not having baseball routine....ugh. I'd like to give him a gentle reminder that the teams they played against also played at the same time of day and in the same weather. The other teams are equally responsible for executing difficult COVID-19 strategies and would also pay the same consequences for poor execution. Great leaders are at their best during adversity....not rationalizing about how good things will be when everything is juuuuuuust right.
  10. Wow... thank goodness Stashak made it back up in the nick of time.... don't know what we would have done without him!
  11. New hitting coach please....
  12. New hitting coach please (yes the sample size is large enough and no, Cruz and Donaldson are not dependent on a hitting coach)
  13. Nice article Cody... very instructive. thanks!
  14. The Killer Bs are going to get PAID in free agency in a few years...by a team with a bigger budget. And I will be excited for both Buck and Berrios because they the have both worked very hard on their craft, fought through adversity, and bet on themselves.
  15. He will not be pitching out of the bullpen, managing the team, or acting as the hitting coach..... so unfortunately I'll have to go with 'no'
  16. My concern is that Rocco just doesn't seem to have a feel for in game decisions. It's almost like he has a predetermined algorithm for each game when there are just way too many in game variables to do that. Many unanticipated adjustments are needed. I don't think that he is dumb or bad or lacks competitive fire or is not passionate about the game. But I DO think that he is ill equipped for in game management which is of course SUPER important. I think he would excel much more as a bench coach or in the FO helping with analytics and PRE-GAME prep or both. He will not be a long term manager, nor manage again for another team after the Twins, but he will have a long and successful career in baseball in another position.
  17. Decisions have consequences.... The Northwestern Football team had ZERO positive tests over an entire season.... The success of organizations with COVID is not random, but behavior based.
  18. VERY nicely written and nicely timed article. Thank you!
  19. Cruz and Arraez for co-player-batting coaches! (I'm only half kidding)
  20. 1.Wish Dobnak was at the alternate site to begin the season stretched out to start (which is what he does) and coming to start on Friday 2.Wish Donaldson or Buck pinch hit 2a. Wish that Donaldson and Buck were not healthy scratches in the same game 3. Wish Baldi realized that every pitcher does not turn into a pumpkin if they pass 90 pitches. They even have large variance within themselves from start to start! 4. Wish they would focus more on mechanics and velocity and pitcher performance within an inning later in the game to make changes. 5. Wish for world peace and an end to the pandemic while I'm at it (in case anyone of consequence is listening
