  1. Consistent and flexible average to above average play (at low cost) will always be welcome on a MLB team! He's not going anywhere.
  2. Celestino's development is HUGE for the Twins. We look to have a legit MLB OF (CF capability) at 23 years old! His ceiling is obviously much higher than a 4th outfielder. Super important and exciting for the Twins' future
  3. A team should not by high and sell low... so no... would not trade him right now.
  4. The Twins are basically smoke and mirrors at this point. It's not the FO fault. There has been absolute roster carnage this year so far. No team could survive this volume of injury. It could get ugly, but I'm holding out hope that they can limp for a month or so until people get healthy and the trade deadline happens. But, alas.... Hope is indeed not a plan
  5. Past time... like 3 weeks past time.... he should be getting ready to come OFF the IL ready to tear @#$! up Instead he has literally limped along only to delay the inevitable. Essentially we traded 3 weeks of hobbled Buxton for 3 weeks of post IL elite Buxton due to stubborness
  6. As someone who treated numerous COVID patients from the very beginning of the pandemic and throughout, knows the science very well, and has no financial interest... let me be very clear. The vaccine significantly reduces your chances of being hospitalized and/or dying from COVID-19. The evidence is definitive It is agreed upon by the vast majority of medical experts whom have NO financial stake in the vaccine. It does not prevent all infections or transmission, but has save countless lives There are many things in the world that are debatable... this is not one of them. Sorry
  7. Um... I totally called Kepler being out and likely not vaxxed on the original string....talked about selling swamp land in Florida for those who did not believe and such.... Not surprising at all.
  8. That line up is not going to get it done more often than not..... We really need to get healthy....and fast!
  9. Yes... but the real question is whether he is more of a liability than the current alternatives....
  10. I have 3 additional points to support keeping Gordon as our super utility.... 1. His salary 2. His salary. 3. Oh there was one other thing...what was it again.... oh yeah... his negligible salary!
  11. Ugh.... severe bone bruises can take longer than a few weeks to heal... let's hope that this one is on the more mild end of the spectrum.
  12. Easy.... Lewis never should have gone down in the first place... so yeah.... whatever excuse to FO needs to fix that mistake works for me!
  13. I'm only worried that Buxton's Knee and/or hip aren't right. If so, it stinks, but give him some time to recover on IL. When healthy Buxton will be electric again (same as it ever was... same as it ever.....was)
  14. The central division is B-A-D... BAD! But step one to being a championship team is consistently beating the teams you should and we are checking that box! Still have a long ways to go, but I like the trajectory
  15. Agree that I used a whiff of hyperbole But, we'll agree to disagree on the logic of sending him down. They are overthinking this. He is an emerging star with a #1 overall pick pedigree who was at very least one of the top 4 positional players in the line up went sent down (and arguably higher) I have full confidence that he could provide above average defense at 3B or LF (on the days that he is not covering for SS, CF which could be 2-3 days/week given Buxton) immediately at the MLB level. People with FAAAAAR less athletic talent have adjusted on the fly in the MLB.
  16. What an organizational embarrassment to see Lewis playing in AAA. Intellectual and strategic malpractice. He was playing SS too.... So, do they plan on playing him in AAA the rest of the year if Correa stays healthy? What if Correa doesn't opt out at the end of the year? Keep rockin' AAA SS next year too? A Correa trade to open up a MLB SS spot would lessen the quality of a team that has a chance to win the division this year and therefore counterintuitive. I've been generally appreciative of the FO over their tenure (not every decision is going to work), but this is self-inflicted wound plain and simple
  17. Based on performances in the minors this season, we are well positioned to make impactful trades for pitching at the deadline if we are still in contention. This would also decompress a pending 40-man crunch
  18. I was going to write a nuanced and thoughtful explanation for why this was a poor decision but opted against wasting my time because it is so obviously Bat #@$% crazy. The Twins are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overthinking this. When a #1 overall draft pick shows he belongs in the MLB, you keep him there and figure it out (with regular playing time).... period. Would love to hear an example of a previous #1 overall doing this well in the MLB and being demoted. (and this is coming from someone who was skeptical about his performance this year because of his previous K:BB ratios and time off....)
  19. So Lewis has no intention of returning to the minors..... time to start figuring out the plan for him an Correra..... 3B/LF combo?
  20. If Buck stays relatively healthy, they are a 'real' contender for the playoffs. Not a contender for being a 'real' threat in the playoffs this year IMO, but give this core 1-2 years of experience on top of talent.....absolutely a WS contender too...if Buck stays healthy (which should be added to the end of any prognostic declaration about the Twins
  21. Great win! But, for all of you that like to talk about Sano's average exit velocity..... just make sure you are factoring in the 0 mph for each of his Ks! That will help you understand why your advanced metrics fail the logic test
  22. Buck is Breaking Baseballs. Just Say No to Sano... It's been more than loooong enough. I'll happily root for him to 'find it' elsewhere. Good teams cannot just wait months for a player to have a few torrid weeks. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The Twins have been meeting that definition with Sano for a few years now. (and yes, they will still be meeting that definition when he inevitably has his hot 3 weeks during the mid to end of June)
