  1. I agree, but the teams HAVE to be doing something earlier than the week players report. The assistant to the assistant Travel Coordinator I'm sure has responssabilities and deadlines to get this sussed out. Otherwise, sign me up
  2. Funny as always, but this one hits close to home in the way it makes you sad. Your columns are always on point with the Twins. This is Minnesota. They’re going to make it hurt and make it confusing
  3. Hawk Harrelson retiring took some fun out of the rivalry. The Twins got the addendum of his Home Run call "You can put it on the board! Yes! (pause if it was against Twins)...Hell Yes! Even my Sox fans agree with this
  4. The key is going to not trade the best one
  5. Darius may have written the most profound, funny, sad line ever: To date, we’ve accomplished nothing other than the longest playoff losing streak in the history of any documented sport. I went from laughing to feeling sad in seconds
  6. Great job. I only poked around, but can't wait to take a deeper dive later. Thanks for the article, Seth. Again, great job Twins
  7. No thanks. All options are either too expensive or prospect depleting. I like our starting staff. Is it World Series caliber? No. Is the team built to win one game in ALDS? Yes. We could have Bauer and guarantee a win (maybe) but cripple the next 3 years. I like the organization focusing forward. We'll get there
  8. Something I was thinking about also. Plus, 2nd Base has to do the blind turn for double plays
  9. Polanco should be practicing 3b right now and get his arm strength up
  10. Not getting on board with either. Especially Royce. SSS for both, and to predict both are going to be studs...You don't folllow MLB. Kirloff may be a substandard defender where ever you put him. Lewis may not have a position. I know nothing about about prospects, but aside from his AZ Fall League 2 weeks Royce has done nothing to impress with the bat. I know Larnach, Rooker, and Jeffers are older, but that is the future. May sound crazy, but how I feel
  11. Kind of a side note, I use MLB TV so the only games I don't get are the Chicago games (which is fine because they're on cable and and I don't have to listen to Hawk anymore (Dagummit). Is it true that if you subscribe to MLB TV in Iowa you don't get Chicago, KC, MPLS, St. Louis, and Milwaukee?
  12. Polanco is guaranteed. If his ankle surgery doesn't improve his performance then we have a problem. If he has to be utility, his good value contract isn't looking so hot 2 years later. I don't see another team making a trade of any value after his '20 stats.
  13. I think the key thing to remember here is that Cleveland is doing a payroll dump, not a 1 for 1 exchange of potential talent. Cleveland will surrender a year of being competitive, save 40 million, and right ship in 2022. I think they know what they're doing. I always hate the sox, but I always respect Cleveland
  14. Again, if the owners want to use the DH as a negotiating chip, the time and place to do that is the upcoming CBA negotiations, not the middle of some random offseason. Thank you, Brock. That was the point I was trying to make in this post.
  15. I appreciate that you spelled out the values you were placing on how you were ranking players. Makes sense and should reduce a lot of arguments. This isn't science, just speculation. My quib on the list is Rogers. I'd rank him a bit higher of an asset. That's just me
  16. Kepler seems to be valued to high. I know age and cheap contract enhance his value, but he looked mediocre at the plate to me this year (SSS) but I have some concerns with him. Corner outfielders need to hit for value
  17. Being in Chicago, I loathe the White Sox. We need to bring back Hawk Harrelson. YYYessssss! Hell Yessss!
  18. Great write up. Nodded my head with everyone of them. Well articulated
  19. You're missing the point. We can't sign Cruz until he establishes his value on the open market. MLB is not saying what the open market is. My point is not about wether the DH should be in the game for both leagues, it's why can't they just say what it is so teams can evaluate their needs
  20. How is it that MLB can't figure out Universal DH or not? Not fair to players. Not fair to teams. Not fair to the Twins signing Cruz. If MLB can't get this figured out there is no way we have baseball after labor negotiations after next season. Manfred is a joke. I'm just pointing this out before both points become front page news (not that most fans are aware of this) I'll step off my soapbox now
  21. The big problem as stated in article is that Polanco can't be 'Super Utility' he has no outfield value or able to play first (which I know can be handled with other options) The problem is our offensive bench is so few with the profusion of relievers teams carry these days The decision is wether Twins believe the ankle won't be an issue and he bounces back on offense. If his ankle is a better I see him getting to a few more balls at SS and his arm is not terrible to my eye. Save the money and get another #2 ish starter
  22. I think asking a rookie to break in as a Super Utility will slow his progress. Not getting enough reps at a position consistently. Also, Aside from 2 weeks in AZ Fall League his bat seems questionable
  23. Don't know if I agree putting Twins on top. Sox hitting will be best in MLB and their pitching is at least as good as ours hopes to be. Hope I'm wrong. Thanks for the article
