  1. Polanco and Kepler are worrying me. They're taking a lot of weak swings and guessing wrong seemingly every at-bat and end up watching hittable pitches go down the middle. If those guys can't both put up a consistent .750+ OPS, this lineup is not going to be top-10 in the league. That's the elephant in the room, especially since they were recently signed to new contracts (team friendly, but still money) Kepler looks lost and Polanco is unbalanced. Is that a carry-over from his ankle injury?
  2. I agree with everything you said here. Thanks for saving me having to bang out a paragraph
  3. EL Juidero is the most baffling music video ever.
  4. Great article/analysis. I know this makes me seem like an old man, but 3 + outs shouldn't be the exception. Especially when you you may be facing the 5-9 hitters in lineup (Although The Twins lineup would give me pause) I just can't believe we live in a world with 14 pitcher staffs. Did love this line The reason for this was because the bullpen was made up of bubble gum, paper clips, and lost dreams. Also, Matt Magill
  5. I hope Polanco rebounds. Don't want to fail on both Kepler and Polanco re-signings. I know we got them on team friendly deals, but this won't look good in a couple years. Kepler looks absolutely lost at the plate. I hope everything 'clicks' somehow April 1. I hated watching him bat last year and was glad it was only 60 games.
  6. "I'm worried about offense....I'm worried about defense....I'm worried about Starting Pitching....We don't have 4 lefties in the pen....Who's going to be our #3 Right Fielder.....SIGH...Aaron Rodgers once said something profound "R-E-L-A-X" I know it's our job to be concerned. I know it sucks Kriloff is hitting .100 but this team wasn't thrown together overnight and 4 plus years of FalVine makes me comfortable. Games count as much in April as September, but let's not freak (until May 1)
  7. I don't need an ad (although I love the concept of the ad) to love Dobnak. No story line in 2019 was more compelling than minor leaguer setting wedding date well beyond his end of season and yet... Get's through 4 levels of competition and is pitching a post-season game in the majors. Hollywood can't write that. I hope he has a nice 5 year run with the Twins and has an imprint on a couple of big games (in a good way) Austudilllo was fun, Dobnak is a player. Wish both the best.
  8. I agree, but the teams HAVE to be doing something earlier than the week players report. The assistant to the assistant Travel Coordinator I'm sure has responssabilities and deadlines to get this sussed out. Otherwise, sign me up
  9. Funny as always, but this one hits close to home in the way it makes you sad. Your columns are always on point with the Twins. This is Minnesota. They’re going to make it hurt and make it confusing
  10. Hawk Harrelson retiring took some fun out of the rivalry. The Twins got the addendum of his Home Run call "You can put it on the board! Yes! (pause if it was against Twins)...Hell Yes! Even my Sox fans agree with this
  11. The key is going to not trade the best one
  12. Darius may have written the most profound, funny, sad line ever: To date, we’ve accomplished nothing other than the longest playoff losing streak in the history of any documented sport. I went from laughing to feeling sad in seconds
  13. Great job. I only poked around, but can't wait to take a deeper dive later. Thanks for the article, Seth. Again, great job Twins
  14. No thanks. All options are either too expensive or prospect depleting. I like our starting staff. Is it World Series caliber? No. Is the team built to win one game in ALDS? Yes. We could have Bauer and guarantee a win (maybe) but cripple the next 3 years. I like the organization focusing forward. We'll get there
  15. Something I was thinking about also. Plus, 2nd Base has to do the blind turn for double plays
  16. Polanco should be practicing 3b right now and get his arm strength up
  17. Not getting on board with either. Especially Royce. SSS for both, and to predict both are going to be studs...You don't folllow MLB. Kirloff may be a substandard defender where ever you put him. Lewis may not have a position. I know nothing about about prospects, but aside from his AZ Fall League 2 weeks Royce has done nothing to impress with the bat. I know Larnach, Rooker, and Jeffers are older, but that is the future. May sound crazy, but how I feel
  18. Kind of a side note, I use MLB TV so the only games I don't get are the Chicago games (which is fine because they're on cable and and I don't have to listen to Hawk anymore (Dagummit). Is it true that if you subscribe to MLB TV in Iowa you don't get Chicago, KC, MPLS, St. Louis, and Milwaukee?
  19. Polanco is guaranteed. If his ankle surgery doesn't improve his performance then we have a problem. If he has to be utility, his good value contract isn't looking so hot 2 years later. I don't see another team making a trade of any value after his '20 stats.
  20. I think the key thing to remember here is that Cleveland is doing a payroll dump, not a 1 for 1 exchange of potential talent. Cleveland will surrender a year of being competitive, save 40 million, and right ship in 2022. I think they know what they're doing. I always hate the sox, but I always respect Cleveland
  21. I appreciate that you spelled out the values you were placing on how you were ranking players. Makes sense and should reduce a lot of arguments. This isn't science, just speculation. My quib on the list is Rogers. I'd rank him a bit higher of an asset. That's just me
  22. Kepler seems to be valued to high. I know age and cheap contract enhance his value, but he looked mediocre at the plate to me this year (SSS) but I have some concerns with him. Corner outfielders need to hit for value
