    Spot on, people hyper focus on the last 2 months but that 90+ win pace was a mirage propped up by a glut of games against a couple atrocious opponents.

    Apples and oranges. 86 wins was the fewest amongst playoff teams last year. The Twins need to play at a 90+ win pace for the rest of the year just to reach that 86 win mark. People need to start accounting for the losses baked into the schedule when looking at how much of the season is left. Waiting until July is way too late to start making moves. Yes, I think KC is cooked. Their offense is putrid outside of Witt Jr. Idk how they're going to score enough runs to consistently win games.

    Eh, Wallner is plenty streaky and Lewis cratered hard for a bulk of the time he was healthy last season. I'm not sure the Twins have a single bat that you'd want hitting 3rd or 4th for a championship team.

    Is it inferior instruction at the MLB level, or are these prospects perhaps more flawed than fans are willing to believe? Why not point a finger at the FO who built this development system? What top prospect, or really any prospect of note, hasn't had an actual opportunity to play? These guys still have to hit, pitch, or play some semblance of defense if they want to stick on a MLB roster.

    It was a massive departure from the original offer. All those vesting years are reliant on PAs surpassed and/or awards won in his mid 30s onward. Good luck. If either of those teams were (allegedly) intent on easily beating MN's offer, how is it also not a bad precedent for a player to spurn them? Negotiations get contentious all the time, look at arbitration, but players almost always end up signing where they'll get paid. Carlos Correa, Dior comments and all, and his famously ruthless agent were totally fine with (allegedly) leaving multiple offers better than MN's on the table? Also, he wasn't upset with the Twins and opted to sign their 2nd offer which objectively worse than the original? Occam's Razor here...

    Primarily Twins media, but it trickles down to the fans. Homerism isn't unique to MN, but it feels like deflection when you're scuffling through what should be a window of contention. The on field product has oscillated between poor and painfully mediocre for most of the last 4+ seasons.

    Correa was $35M mad at SF, or was that initial Mets offer he signed hours after SF balked the new top offer? Yeah, so nearly $50M less than what the Twins were guaranteeing him over 6 years. The Mets deal required him to pass a physical each season after year 6 or the contract was voided. Zero chance he was getting anywhere close to $315M there. It was an inferior offer, hence he pivoted to MN. SF had a better deal on the table and Boras decided to just take a haircut? We know the Mets didn't match MN.

    Megill has been pretty erratic all night but a terrible Castro AB + a GDP make sure this club can't put any real distance between them and an anemic Mets offense. France making the last out of an inning getting thrown out at 3B was comical as well.

    That's what, 3 hits that haven't left the IF so far tonight? Plus a Correa blooper to score another run? I never want to hear people moan about other teams dinking and dunking Twins pitchers....

    By Twins standards Bader is an every day player but yeah, more of him isn't ideal.

    The sentiment is picking up steam. Genuinely curious if those in favor are willing to sit through a repeat of the previous decade to break open another "contention window," this club was supposed to be in currently.

    Honestly I often prefer listening to opposing broadcasts, particularly when the Twins aren't playing well. I can't handle the mental gymnastics used to sugar coat the play on the field. These guys are hired to sell a product, so I get it to an extent, but man it's rough.

    Unless he wanted less flexibility and $$, yeah, he kinda was forced back to the Twins. The additional negotiations with SF and NY came after failed physicals. I'm sure each club was disappointed (at least at the time) that they weren't able to sign him for few years and less money.

    It'll probably get lost in the wash with everything that went wrong this game but yeah Idk why you're subbing out Julien in that situation for Bader with a runner right in front of him on 2nd and Gasper on deck. I guess you're hoping Bader scores on an extra base hit where Julien wouldn't? Idk. That seems like a stretch. It didn't matter, but if you're giving up an OF spot Idk why you wouldn't pinch hit Bader for Gasper to do it. If Gasper comes through and the inning ends tied at 7 (and let's be honest, Vazquez was up next) Bader is moving to a corner, Larnach or Wallner are out, Miranda has to come in at 3B, and Castro has to slide to 2B. All of that commotion and a completely empty bench heading into extra innings just to keep Gasper at DH.
