  1. Pagan blowing a game at Target Field while pitching in the NL is pure comedy
  2. You can chop a ground ball to 3B and achieve a good result (beating out a throw for a base hit) but would you advocate for consistently weak contact? I mean it yielded a hit right?
  3. I don't think that's really the case. Other than SP usage it's business as usual, and that long leash for starters has more to do with the state of the bullpen IMO.
  4. This. I'll add; enjoy the good stretch of play. It's fun, it's the baseball we all want to watch. Idk how long it'll last, but living and dying on April 15th distracts, at least for me.
  5. He also hasn't been good at the MLB level in years and he has no options. The Twins need to find out whether Roden is a AAAA guy or someone worth rostering. That question has been answered with Outman.
  6. Roden is 26 and he posted a nearly 900 OPS in AAA last year. I don't really care what 2 weeks in AAA looks like when Outman is literally forcing his way off the Major League roster.
  7. This. Late inning defensive replacement/PR is such a massive waste of a roster spot for a team where the other 12 guys are collectively middling at best. Hell, I think it's a wasted roster spot for any team.
  8. "There's nowhere near the hyperbole surrounds Abel's rough start vs. Bradley's strong start," i.e. your level of panic after a couple Abel starts doesn't come close to matching your level of excitement after 3 Bradley starts if we're going to accept these sample sizes i.e. you're quiet (silent) regarding Abel. Semantics though right.... Not liking the trade ≠ "trashing Bradley." Viewing Taj Bradley as a fringe starter or BP candidate to start the year ≠ "trashing Bradley." If I told you Brooks Lee hasn't been a productive MLB player am I "trashing," him? You're misrepresenting where Taj Bradley was at the end of the 2025 season because it makes your silly little victory lap look better. There's no hill buddy, it's just you on a soap with a megaphone while most walk by with ears covered....
  9. Radio silent meaning there's nowhere near the hyperbole surrounding Abel's rough start vs. Bradley's strong start. "I still like him," is certainly a valid position to hold on Abel, but you're framing other similarly valid quotes regarding Bradley as "most people were trashing him," which wasn't true on multiple levels.
  10. It's that part and I'll add the age qualifier. I saw Abel was mentioned, but he doesn't hit FA until age 30, that's not worth it IMO. I'm not dogging the Twins for the Lopez extension at all, but they bought his age 28 through 31 seasons. He was fine in 2024, nothing really special. He missed a huge chunk of last year, he's missing all of this year, and then who knows what 2027 will look like. You don't expect that when you're signing established talent, but we're not even talking about trying to lock up established guys here.
  11. If you're going to sew together snippets of posts as evidence for some sort of anti-Bradley agenda at least tag us.... @USAFChief @DocBauer @nicksaviking @Hans Birkeland @Brandon @Aggies7 @tony&rodney @LastOnePicked @Danchat @Glorybound @Hashim @BrokenCompass I can't find Mike or DavidHK?
  12. For whatever reason this person assumed the contrarian role in regard to the deadline moves. They see some zag where almost everybody is zigging. They've latched onto Bradley presumably because it's all they've got as far as MLB production right now. I saw I made the greatest hits list (weird none of us quoted were tagged though) and FWIW this same poster was much higher on Abel yet it's radio silence (as it should be since we're 2 or 3 ****ing starts deep) regarding his rough beginning. Taking a 3 game victory lap while claiming to be a "facts based guy," is wild, but doing so amidst Abel's struggles while also claiming to have such a great memory is even more hilarious.
  13. Lol at Provus hyping up a fly ball that didn't even find the warning track.
  14. Detroit looks rough since the ASB last year. For the sake of comedy I'd love to see a low 80s win total take the ALC.
  15. In his defense the pitch he challenged wasn't right down the middle this time. Baby steps...
  16. We keep hearing people whine about how it's not Wallner's fault that nobody is on base when he happens to run into a ball (never mind the fact that his own OBP is terrible) then he gets a chance with RISP where a fly ball or even a grounder to the right side scores a run and he strikes out in 4 pitches while wasting a challenge...
  17. That inning is a prime example of why this team struggles to score runs. Caratini doesn't know where the SS is playing and starts back towards 2B on a line drive up the middle. Idk if he would've scored but he had zero chance after misreading that ball. Wallner comes up with runners at the corners and only one out. K Royce flies out. Brutal.
  18. This isn't the NBA or NFL where stupid "ring culture," debates detract from actual production. Mike Trout has played in a whopping 3 postseason games, and he has exactly one career postseason hit. I think his professional legacy is just fine. Also, the guy (Buxton) has a family. Lives exist outside of baseball. I disagree that securing generational wealth and choosing not to uproot your family makes you complacent.
  19. Who doesn't want to feel like they're being set up for success? If you're workplace is dysfunctional, wouldn't you consider a change? Buxton signed the extension coming off a season where he was an AS, posted a 133 OPS+ and he was still playing elite CF defense at 27 years of age. Idk if he was capped at 3 years. Buxton has posted 13 WAR since signing that extension. He's earned $55M in that span, which is roughly half of what teams are paying for that WAR production in FA. It was largely panned as a team friendly deal the day he signed it, and it has certainly lived up to that billing. Hell, guys like Joey Gallo and Christian Vazquez were making almost as much as Buck annually during their Twins tenure. The NTC has been anything but an albatross. The Buxton extension has (at least so far) been a great deal for the Twins.
  20. Ok, but I think that's a pretty small part of the Wallner criticism, and tbh Idk if "emptiness," is the right word but you said it yourself, he was bad in close games and late situations. If we're listing complains I'd love for people (not saying you're doing this) to stop equating the view of Wallner as a flawed player with "hate."
  21. Wallner isn't getting on base either (.256 OBP) and the K% is abysmal. Being mad that teammates aren't filling the bases in front of him feel like deflection given how rough Wallner has looked to start the year.
  22. Wallner has absolutely contributed to the offensive woes to start the season. .192/.256/.444 with a near 50% K rate.
