  1. Absolutely not. With positional flexibility, in theory a team like the Twins could just rotate their starting 9 to put the best matchup to the plate each and every at bat. Or the rule would say you have to re-enter to play the same position. And if a rule needs a bunch of asterisks, it's too complicated and should not be considered. Every new rule creates new problems. Plus, I like baseball as a team sport with chance involved. Just no.
  2. I hope Wallner has turned the corner, but I see a pattern in recent years. Kirillof, Larnach and Wallner all look good when they get called up. Then the league figures them out and the cycle continues. In short, I hope he's a near everyday player but I won't believe it for a few hundred AB.
  3. The ASG is the only place where individual April stats matter -- and the Twins were awful in April. Personally, I could care less who is picked. ASG is a popularity contest for the kids. Let the "deserving" players who weren't picked have a 4 day break with their families. That sounds like a good consolation prize to me.
  4. Lee's positional flexibility is what allowed them to hit Miranda there too. How is Lee's defense looking? I only watch on Gameday.
  5. Sorry everyone. I tuned back it after the Miranda double after tuning out during the HOU second inning rally. For your sake, I'll sign out again. I accept full responsibility.
  6. I feel like Alcala starts with a clean inning break more often than inheriting runners. Test time.
  7. What was his avg 3 days ago, haha
  8. Tuned out for a while. So...Miranda has hits in 8 consecutive AB?
  9. Diaz sees as many pitches as Twins in the entire 1st inning.
  10. Eddie goes back to ATL. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/braves-sign-eddie-rosario-to-minors-deal-select-eli-white.html
  11. Any contender needs an insurance policy. But I think Lee/Julien/Wallner may have that covered too. You could make the case for BIG move to upgrade over Kepler and Larnach but I don't see that coming and if they move real assets I'd rather see a SP. I could see adding depth pieces they can hide, like a 5 OF type of backup 1B at the deadline but nothing big as far as position players go.
  12. Woo baseball! In my head, it feels like they should have the day off after the afternoon game yesterday.
  13. Yes. But this post came when Santana was the PH -- he doesn't exactly need AB.
  14. Something about a game ending on HBP...
  15. Huh. Didn't know Miller was still going.
  16. Bet we see Farmer at SS next half inning. Nobody else obvious to rest rn.
  17. I didn't see this coming. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/jordan-balazovic-signs-with-kbos-doosan-bears.html
