    He'll get his chance. Give him at least 100 AB. Who knows if his back is healthy. And while I've seen discussion of his playing time at 2B in this thread, I've seen no mention of his defense in general. If a player is "ready" it's not just about offense. (Or defense. There's a mental side too.)

    I agree that Jackson wasn't the answer but Funderburk has been up and down all year for a reason. He's not the answer (yet) either. Eh, we still have half a game to play. Maybe this will light some fire in the dugout. Or, they can just light the dugout on fire. I doubt A's ownership would mind.

    I disagree with the premise that a high performing prearbitration player will come "cheap." In trades, you're trading for the contract as much as you are the player.

    This story is definitely super weird (mostly the timeline). But anything talked about here is pure speculation. It's possibly selfishness on AK's end. It's more likely naivety.
